      Welcome to DV Ramey .

When it comes down to it, lucid dreaming requires three things; confidence, effort and patience. You first need to be Confident in your ability to lucid dream. Don't tell yourself you can't do it, because you can. If you put in the Effort. Unless you're naturally good at lucid dreaming, you need to want to lucid dream, and you need to try to. Some people don't lucid dream straight away. It can take from one day to over a year to have your first lucid dream, depending on the person, but you need to have Patience.

Just to clarify something, a lucid dream isn't a particularly vivid dream, nor is it a dream in which you have control. Lucidity simply means that you know you're dreaming. Now, I would first recommend keeping a dream journal if you don't already. You should also start doing reality checks during the day, as these can help to become lucid during a dream. You should look up the DILD (Dream-Induced Lucid Dream) tutorial in the DV Wiki, that will explain more about what it is, and what it involves.

If you've got any other questions, feel free to ask, or send me a PM!

You don't have to stay in one position but laying on your back (I've heard) is the best. Only certain induction techniques require you to wake up and move around so you should be fine. Like shockwave said try DILD, and definitely keep a dream journal it establishes a dream pattern, so if you ever have the same dream again you will surely know it's a dream and that could trigger a lucid right there. I also recommend using ADA it makes your dreams a lot more vivid believe it or not.

You can move around as much as you want as you are falling asleep. Do Whatever you do normally. Lucid dreaming is all about what you are doing with your mind. Your body doesn't matter much. If you are looking for some good advice or tutorials, check out the wiki:

If you are just getting started, check out the WBTB tutorial. It should get you going in the right direction.
