Getting Close with WILD some questions about sensations and meditation

Sorry for making the millionth WILD thread but since every experience is unique I am hoping that someone will be kind enough to give me some personal attention. I am amazed by the visions and sensations that I am experiencing when attempting WILD and I feel like I am getting close. Last night I was feeling numb to the point that when I would try to move my limbs I couldn't, thought I could still feel them there if I turned my concentration to them. Unfortunately some things kept happening to jerk me out of my meditative state. I had to get up to go to the bathroom once (no brainer), I kept having to swallow, and whenever my AC went off the change in the sound jerked me "awake."

So, I have a few specific questions for seasoned dreamers:

      1) When you WILD is it best to lie in a specific position or can I get comfortable? I tend to feel most comfortable when I am sleeping on my stomach with my legs sprawled out.

      2) Is it absolutely necessary to maintain this position if it becomes uncomfortable? I ask because I usually toss and turn to get to sleep and if I stay still to long it starts to feel irritating.

      3) Whenever I get about 15 minutes in my mind starts to wander. I start to see visions and build dream-like scenarios. For example, last night I felt like I was on a white water rafting trip with some buddies and we were talking back and forth. I was not consciously controlling the experiences, they just came. Should I ignore these visions or embrace them. They are kind of fun in and of themselves.

Thanks in advance for your help!

      Phazzle, welcome to DV .

First, it's best to sleep in whatever position is most comfortable for you. The less comfortable you are, the harder it will be to get to sleep. If the position becomes too uncomfortable, you should change to a more comfortable position until you can get one that doesn't become irritating. Personally, I sleep half-curled up in a ball and I usually only have to turn over a few times before I fall asleep. In response to your last question, you can choose to embrace the experiences if you find them fun, but maintaining focus on lucid dreaming is necessary if you want to WILD.

If you have any other questions, feel free to post, or send me a private message.

I absolutely agree with Shock, just go with whatever position you feel most comfortable with. When you start seeing stuff just keep a firm mind on the task at hand of lucid dreaming. Although I will admit it gets hard sometimes, once when I tried a WILD and I was so close to getting it..but then I blacked out can't remember what happened right after. It just takes practice, patience and the will to keep doing it.

I hope you get lucid soon though! Remember to keep up those dream journals. Here for support 100%.
