I havn't experienced a lucid dream yet but i asked about how do you know if you are lucid and the reply was simple, If you know you are dreaming you are lucid!! so congratulations on your first LD keep up at it |

I am not quite sure if this was my first lucid or just part of my dream. Anyhow i was in a car and for some reason i started thinking is this a dream. Then thought to myself this must be a dream, did the nose plug thing and i could still breathe. And like many others tried to do some dream control after rubbing my hands together for a few seconds. Everything goes blurred, and i wake up.. Except i wake up still in the dream, just another scene, and to make it even more unique i wake up from a bed in that scene. So i guess what i am wondering is was i lucid/ semi-lucid, or was being lucid just part of the dream.. if possible? |

Bren, lucidity means you realise that you're dreaming, regardless of whether you are 'asleep' in the dream or not. If you appear to wake up inside the dream, this is known as a false awakening (FA). To prevent FAs from causing you to lose lucidity, you should do reality checks whenever you wake up, whether you think it is real or not. |

Your right it was a FA. Last FA i had was different, it was one of those wake up out of bed turn off alarm clock, then wake up for real turn off alarm clock deja vu ones. Guess i expected all FA's to be similar to that in some way. Looks like i need to get in a habit of RC'ing right when waking up. Thanks for the advice and help, its much appreciated. |

If you think that meditation is improving your recall, and you're interesting in continuing meditation, I'd recommend taking my meditation class in the DV Academy. It's forum based so you don't need to make huge commitments, and you can read at your own pace. |
