So last night, more accurately this morning, I had a lucid dream(that I remembered). I'm happy I had one, and since this is only my 3rd time, I figured I'd share it. |

I had something like that happen once. I was "reading" some book with no words, and there was an author. Couldn't get a look at it very well. |

Well it sounds like you did realize you were dreaming, maybe you just forgot at some point? It's usually harder to remember the non-lucid parts of a dream, so maybe that's why you can't remember what happened next. |

Don't worry, it happens to just about everyone here. Your logic really does get messed up in a mysterious way when you are dreaming, but that's good that you caught it |

I wouldn't feel too bad. Slight back-story before I explain what happened in my second LD: when I first discovered lucid dreaming, I talked to my dad about it. He thought it was stupid and didn't understand why anyone would want to waste their time on it, unless you were a hippie. Well, my second LD ever and I'm actually in my house and it was exactly as it was in reality (very very rare for me in a dream). I saw my mom's cat which we had just put down because it got very sick and was like 15 years old. I knew then I was dreaming. To double-check, I looked at my hands and my stove's clock: 6 fingers on the left hand and the time continually changed. This was 100% a dream and I knew it. I went into the living room and there is my dad. I start to leave the house and he asks where I am going. I told him this was a dream so it didn't matter. He started telling me that I was crazy and that this wasn't a dream. I tried proving him wrong by doing reality checks again, but they all failed me. Somehow a DC of my dad talked me out of lucidity, thusly making the cumulative time of my LD roughly 7 minutes. I was shocked that I was so easily dissuaded from my conviction that I was in a dream, but since then (this happened like 3 or 4 years ago) I've learned that it was just a newb LDer mistake. My dream mind is still kind of dumb like that, but I've improved since then. |
