      3 lucid dreams 4 nights

so about two weeks ago, I started reading up on lucid dreams, but 4 days ago, I actually put some effort towards having one.

I'm not going to go into too much detail, but my first one was was really weird, I was in the forest jumping through trees, then I checked if i could blow air through my nose if it was plugged, because that did not really seem like anything I did recently. then realizing I was lucid, I tried to create people, one specific lady in particular, that all worked fine and dandy, but about 5 minutes later, everything went black, and florescent rocks and stuff started falling on me.

The second dream (last night) had to do with me and my friend on an island, which we were planning to go to the previous day, but could not due to complications, so I dreamed that we were boarding there, then I realized I was lucid, but only a little bit, so I made this weird helicopter jet-pack and flew around, until everything just started swirling around and I felt really sick so woke up.

The last dream, which I just woke up from was where I realized very early on that I was dreaming, and looked at my hand which completely and totally grossed me out because there was like little fingers and shit. But I realized that I was in a party, still I knew that I didn't have that long, and I wanted to fly, so I tried to fly right then and there inside. This didn't work at all but I remember reading about having to be outside or something, so I went out onto my back porch and some other kids followed me, and I jumped... I ended up just being able to jump farther and sort of float. Still, it was quite a lot of fun, so I decided to try some more, then lots of people at the party were jumping and I go so pissed off that they were in my way. just before I was going to scream my head off, I fell out of bed... :/

I'm pretty happy with my dreams, but would just like a couple pointers on how to make my dreams more lucid. I think another reason for me getting it so fast is that I'm sick right now, and my ears are already depressurized, and I am basically subconsciously doing a RC every 5 minutes.

Anyhow, help with getting my dreams more vivid would be much appreciated.

      Alt, welcome to DV .

That sounds great, not everyone has a lucid straight away, but you had three in just four nights! I found it interesting that you're basically doing an RC every five minutes because of your ears, because I use the pressure in my ears as an RC but I don't do it as much as your subconscious does.

To increase the vividness of your dreams, you could try increasing your awareness in the dream. I would recommend stabilizing the dream by doing something like rubbing your hands together. As you draw your attention to details in the dream, such as the heat you feel when rubbing your hands together, you will become more aware, and the vividness of the dream may increase as you start to notice more details in it. Also when doing RCs, you should try to really focus on your surroundings and question what is happening, and whether it makes sense or not. If you start to do RCs out of habit without actually checking for reality, you won't be as aware as you could be. If you want to improve your awareness more, I would recommend reading this: http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/all-da...gyoshi-113253/

I hope this answers your question, and if you need any more help, feel free to ask. I'll be happy to answer if you choose to send me a private message .

I kind of force myself into a flight or fight response....literally. I often become lucid when I am forced to fight, so either I gain power to fight, or gain the ability of flight in order to escape the danger.

thanks so much for the replies, I've been searching around for lots of info around these forums etc, and I'm quite eager to try out some of these techniques, but I think I will have to put it on hold until I have finished my provincial exams after that's over, I'll probably set up my DJ and put more work into researching and more vividness in my dreams. I've skimmed the entire DILD tutorial, and will get started analyzing it after I finish my math, which I have been putting off for too long. Once again thanks for the help.

hprib012 I'm not sure exactly that I follow what you are saying, do you mean that while you are dreaming, you can start lucidity by getting into a flight/fight response, or that a response of that nature would increase your lucidity, please explain in further detail, my understanding is that when a situation of that sort arises, you gain certain abilities, which I find totally cool so far in my lucid dreams, I have not felt in danger, where as in my regular dreams, I usually just wake up. Thanks for the reply though!

Well I guess what I am referring to is something I did when I was real young. Back then I would have terrible nightmares in which my mind would actually create the monsters I was running from, though I wasn't always aware I was dreaming. For example, I would have dreams where I idly thought "I hope some monster doesn't attack me." and of course being a young girl my mind would immediately create a monster to attack me right after I would think that. I was so terrified of this ability that I would hate dreaming because I knew the moment my mind even began to think of scary ideas they would always come true....keep in mind that for most of these I thought I was in reality. Once I realized I was dreaming however I learned that I could create positive things just as easily as negative things. So what once was "I hope I am not attacked" became, "ok how about the ability to control fire to deal with this monster." Since then I have had countless dreams of doing whatever I want and haven't had hardly any nightmares since. Hope that clears it up!

just to add, because I am pretty sure this is important.

for all three of my LD's I've told myself "I will know when im dreaming" while I was lying in bed. Also, I found that most of my LD's came before I woke up or early in the morning, and I've been getting lots of sleep on account of it being summer, and the friend who I normally go board around with is doing intense studying and makeup work because he didn't have a very good school year. So I've been getting around 10 hours of sleep tonight, with about 3-5 cups of coffee because I adore coffee.

Just wanted to point that out if it makes any difference

EDIT: Aaaand I wrote my post while you were composing yours; thanks for clearing that up, I really wish I started with LD'ing earlier in life because it seems like a useful skill, I only have one dream when I was a child which every night I would dream about for about six months. That is that I was a firefighter, I have no idea why, I have never really wanted to become a fire fighter, but I would always be so happy to go to bed because I knew I would dream about saving people/buildings etc... then one night they just stopped and in a few days they were already almost forgotten.
