New but not new to vivid lucid dreaming

I'm new to these forums, or any forums regarding these dreams. First off, I've been able to have extremely detailed dream recall ever since I was young. I'm 28 now and I can recall dreams I had as A 12 yr old perfct like a memory. Recently I've noticed I've had alOt more control of what my actions are and my actual emotions inside my dream. I can feel emotions like being scared, happy, nervous, etc. I also can think rationally. Like il be in the dream, and know not to go one way, or to pay attention to something bad because it does me no good. My dreams have become so vivid, that I've actually drawn a map of this nonexistent city that like 90% of my dreams take place in. And I can actually pinpoint lovations where certain dreams and scenes have happened. It's bizarre but interesting at the same time how I'm able to recall so vividly and recently been able to sort of control the dream. I can't really control my surroundings, but I can control what I do and say. Anyone else go through this ?

That's amazing! And welcome to DV! So basicly you know you're in a dream, but you can't change what's going on around you? Perhaps you're a natural when it comes to active control, such as super powers. Learn passive control and you can change the scenery or use it to your advantage. I bet that city has many cool things in it!

Check out the tutorials here: DV Tutorials - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views it's full of nice information.

That's sounds awesome, especially the part about the imaginary city. I never seem to remember much about the locations of my dreams. =/ Anyways, welcome to DreamViews! With recall like that, lucid dreaming should be an amazing experience for you.

      Obligatory copy-and-pasted rundown:

On top of that, you can also visit the DV Academy for further guidance - the DVA Professors will teach you everything you'll ever need to know about lucid dreaming.

You might also want to get into the habit of performing reality checks (maybe two or three) throughout your day, you'll eventually start doing them in dreams and become lucid. I usually count my fingers but feel free to look up other methods and see which works best for you. I'd also recommend keeping a dream journal; regularly recording your dreams is a great way to improve to improve recall and you'll be able to notice common themes and patterns which can further help you attain lucidity.

We also have an off-topic section as well where you can discuss anything from books, movies, tv shows, philosophy, current events, etc so be sure to visit that part of the forum as well. We also have an IRC Chat Server which can be found near the top of the forum index. 'tis lulz.

Thanx for the welcome. I just wanted to find a place I can openly speak about my dreams, because my friends and family don't seem to comprehend them or care lol. This past week IDE say I've had my most lucid dreaming of anytime I can remember. And the dream was continues for two days straight. I was able to feel intense emotion. In one scene , I was walking with my wife and as I held her hand I felt an overwhelming feeling of warmth. Another time I felt this overwhelming feeling of happiness because I saw friends I haven't seen in years. It was an awesome feeling waking up. I felt as if I lived it, and I recalled it like it was a real life memory. I was able to dictate where I wanted to go and who I wanted to see in my dreams this week. I'm still not 100% lucid, but I feel like my conscience is getting closer. Each vivid dream I get closer to being more in control. The only thing that amazes me is I'm in this futuristic, otherworfly city EVERYTIME and while I'm in dream, I recognize places and structures. It's amazing. Like another world.

If anyone has ever had lucid dreams in a futuristic city let me know. Maybe we can compare them and see if any are similar.

That city looks interesting. But mine is more traditional with buildings and roads. For example, here's a description of a dream and the city location it was in. On the east side, there's a large ivory waterfront. It's comprised of Ivory colored ground and seats. The seats aren't separate from the ground. The ground sort of molds into seats along the front. Some areas dip down with steps. There are small holes in the ground that shoot up black fluid. The fluid stays suspended in the air sort of like what it would do in space.( floating) there's a small bluiesh grey path that floats on the water, tho you can walk on it. The path leads to a massive building that ive yet to see the top of it, cause it's so high. The building is blueish grey like the path. It has cracks in it, no windows, and it has strange inscriptions on it. I was able to make out one inscription. It's a circle, surrounded by abstract lines. Sort of like when I child draws the sun. Anyhow, one scene that took place here was one time a men dressed in black and red was menacing people in a park near the front. I went to confront him and he shot me and ran. I remember feeling no pain or worry. As I walked toward the front, I was walking and removed my shirt . I then passed the floating black fluid( it was eye level) and met a Man thT looked like a doctor. He looks aT me and embraces me. The wound is gone on the wide of my mid section. This is just a preview of how detailed it can get. And how much I can recall.
