Talking Oh, by the way, I'm new! ;P

I forgot to post my "I'm new!" Thread! :O

Anyways, I'm new to this forum, and I see that this community is very good and everyone appears to be helpful.

I'd like to ask a question about starting lucid dreams. The first time I read about lucid dreaming, and during that first month, I had two, and then I had several in the following months, however I haven't been recording them. Is this normal for lucid dreams to come so quickly?

However, in one of my earlier ones, I was the old man from Up. I was not aware of this fact until I woke up. xD

      Hi sheddler, Welcome to Dreamviews!

      Your question:
It depends on the person how soon you have your first lucid dreaming. Your very lucky to have them that fast! I recommend recording your dreams still, it is very helpful.

Well mancon, I just started a dream journal, and I'm learning how it works.

Also, is the sub-conscious an existing part of your dreams? I can never find a recurring person or object like they say it is.

Welcome Sheddler! Dream journals are so helpful, I'm sure you'll find it a great way to improve.

I don't know where you read that your subconscious has a consistent representation. Mine is only occasionally the same and is only in my dreams every 1 out of a dozen or so
Jen was 13 years old. A fairly normal girl. She spent a lot of time online.
One day, she made a new friend. He liked the same bands, worried about the same subjects.
They decided to meet at the local mall. She went. So did he.
Only he wasn't in junior high.

hi and welcome! I am a lot like you-I have only used my dream journal a few times, and only started looking into lucid dreaming this year, but have had quite a few lucid dreams. dream journals are a great way to keep you on track with lucid dreaming, and it's really interesting to start noticing recurring patterns and places in your dreams if you write them down everyday. then you can recognize your own dream signs.

Silver, YOUR MOTTO CAME FROM KH!

      Anyways, on topic.

When I have Lucid dream, I realize I'm dreaming, but I have such a distant memory of my awakened life, friends, philosophies, even identity, that I feel like a fragment. I just feel like such a piece of myself that I want to call out to the pieces of my dream (everything from my dream is based off of a memory of something, my brain doesn't create ideas, but rather hybrids them.) and ask them for my identity, but I forget to each time that I feel that yearning for my complete consciousness while unconscious... It's the most vivid feeling I've had yet in any part of my dream that I've ever had.

I also had a very vivid daydream about 1 hour ago while listening to a song, and I was standing in the rain, and my view rotated around me. Believe me it looked awesome.

Anyways, my last post deeply concerns me, as it impedes my ability to bring a full memory into my thoughts, causing me to have difficulty bringing objects into my dream, unless I mindlessly pull them out of my memory, which defeats the whole purpose of a lucid dream to me.

      wow, what a cool daydream!
and that is sort of strange about you forgetting your identity. maybe if once you realize you are dreaming, focus on your surroundings and pick out something that looks familiar. that could possibly help you connect to an aspect of your waking life? hmmm I don't know.

Well monika, my post states that I look at my surroundings and long to call out to them, and ask for my identity. I know they come from my memories, and I can name those objects, I just can't name my relationship with those things, unless it's a person that interacts with me. Maybe I can try asking that person who I am!

      /late response is late/

      to DV.

and like the others said, its really different for everyone how quick they get their first LD.
It only took me 3 days, it takes months for some people, some people it takes a few weeks, etc. It's all subjective.
      From my rotting body,

      and I am in them
