      Post Not-so Newbie

Hello all. I am KwikDraw13. I am not an Uber-Newb, so I will just tell you a bit of backstory and get right to the fun stuff.

I used to be able to lucid dream. ALL THE TIME. I think back them I maybe had like 3 non lucid dreams per month. Then I kinda stopped thinking about it, and I eventually lost my ability. As the saying goes, you never know what you've got till it's gone. My current goal is to regain my ability, to make Lucid Dreaming into a sort of escape from the harsh reality of real life. So, if anyone can fill me in on some of the details of how this forum specifically works, I would appreciate it. Especially how to make a signature... I can't quite figure it out.

      Welcome to DreamViews

if you used to have the natural ability, it should be easier to pick it up than most people. just stay determined

as for signatures, on the top corner where you log in, click control panel, and on the left hand side go to the "settings" panel and click "edit signature" you can type something, or add a signature picture or both

if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Can you remember how you used to lucid dream? That might give you a good place to start.

Ah, I see it will not let me set one yet. No matter. The only thing that I didn't like about this site last time I was here (I was just snooping.) Was the whole magical hippie-esc vibe (Please take no offense if you don't fully understand, I'm not a wordsmith) but now, I kinda like the whole "Escaping from this world, spirit guide, etc." Stuff. So hahahaha!! Take that... me...
My problem is I've grown up a (Veerry Conservative) Christian my whole life, but recently I'm a lot less conservative, and I feel more free to explore those things. Nothing against Conservatives, I'm still conservative on most topics.
That was a really pointless post...

Welcome! I am similar to you in that I have some natural ability, but I only started refocusing on LDing when I joined this site a couple of weeks ago. Since I joined and became active on the forums, I have had 11 LDs, which is much greater than my natural frequency. So, if you simply peruse the forums, ask questions, and perhaps join some projects like the Dream Views Academy, your LDing should come back in full force Also, definitely check out the Courses (particularly those about Dream Control or general lucid dreaming) because they have lots of tips and techniques that can help anyone from a complete beginner to a well-seasoned LDer.

The members on this forum have been very nice and helpful to me in my short time here, so don't hesitate to jump right in!

No, It really just came naturally. I still was really focused on the control part, though. My main problem is that whenever I find that I'm lucid, my dream's don't last very long. I do need to take sleeping pills, so that could be part of it, but when I got off of them for a while, it didn't make much of a difference other than me being really tired...
