      Hi there (:

      Hello,
My name is John, I'm fifteen and I am very excited with this lucid dreaming thing c:
I have some questions about it and I hope you can help me, as I am not very familiar with the induction techniques and stuff. Also, I'm not an english speaker, so probably my writting has a lot of flaws.

      that's it

Hi, thank you for the welcoming ^^

Yes, i do have a couple of questions. If i watch horror movies, will it affect my dreams in a bad way? I don't want Jigsaw running after me while I'm asleep :s
and, what kind of induction technique would be more appropriate for a newbie like me?

1.) If you dream about a movie after a lot after you watch it, then it might cause nightmares. So yes, it could, but lucid dreams help against nightmares. Once you realize you are dreaming then you're in control and can do anything you want.

2.) It really depends on the person. I would recommend looking at this thread carefully, and choose what technique you think would be best for you. Many people think DILD or MILD are the easiest techniques.

I hope to see you posting around more! If you have any question involving the site or lucid dreaming, feel free to message me or another dream guide (Dream Guides usernames are in green and are experienced people who can help you.) Good luck!

To add to what Mancon said, if you can get the hang of them, DEILDs are very successful and reliable. DEILD

I have already spent some time reading about some of those techniques this afternoon. But I'm not sure If I'll be able to execute any of them, as I usually don't remember almost any of my dreams. I don't know if it'll be different with lucid dreams(?)

Thank you for the information and quick replies, btw c:

Lucid dreams are a bit more memorable than normal dreams, but you can still forget them! That is why it is so important to build up dream recall at first, or you might forget your LDs. You should definitely start keeping a DJ as soon as you can. This tutorial will help you with your recall and is really helpful.

Ok, I'll take a look at it. I have one more question. Until today I didn't know that we dreamed everyday, but most of the dreams (at least in my case) we just can't remember. Now, that I know that we do dream everyday, will it be easier for me to remember what I dreamed even if it is just regular dreams?

It's possible, but if you really want to remember as many of your dreams as you can (which you should) then when you wake up, don't move. Just think about any dreams you may have had. Lay there for a good 5-10 minutes just thinking of what you dreamt of, and then write it down in your DJ. You'll be surprised at how much you actually remember.

      Good morning

So, last night, I told myself many times that I would remember of what I dreamed and guess what? It worked

I woke up at aroung 6:10am, which isn't normal but I can't remember what made me wake up, and at first I didn't remember a thing. So, as Lurke said I tried to stay stood until I remember what I had dreamed of, but I started to feel itchy in my eye and I had to move to scratch it. After that, I tried to not move and just lay down with my eyes closed and half a minute later I just thought to myself: forget it, you failed. but right after, some images just popped up on my head. I don't feel like they were a dream now, but I'm pretty sure they were. It's not much, (I just remember two parts of what I guess it's the same dream, because they both take place at my backyard), but I see it as a great achievement because the last time I did this was a long time ago.

You already do. These boards have a built-in dream journal feature that lets you share them with others and get forum points for updating.

Ah, interesting. Thank you. Still need to get a physical DJ though, so I can write my dreams right after getting out of bed.

It's possible because you won't have the mindset of "oh I just didn't have a dream last night". But it will still take practice to remember your dreams. Start a dream journal, then you will start remembering more and more dreams.

Your first lds could last a few seconds, or a few minutes. For me I normally have lds that last 5 minutes. I think my highest was 15-20 minutes. But it is possible to have one up to an hour.

In most cases of a first lucid (no matter how long) the person will wake up with this amazing feeling that will last all day. You will be amazed at how vivid everything is. And how real everything feels.

I really can't imagine, it's still a little hard for me to believe that everything really looks and feels like in real life. But I hope I get that feeling soon
How regularly do you have LD's? Like once a week, twice?

Ok, I have another question :p I guess that's normal in a newbie, but I'm sorry anyway.
So, I was reading about the CAN-WILD technique and it looks interesting, I wanna give it a try. But the thing is, the minimum time lenght for my phone's alarm ring is one minute which is much more than what is should be for the CAN-WILD. Has anyone tried this technique and knows if the whole thing will be compromised if I use my phone's alarm ring?
