      Sp question

So I relaxed my body and began to drift off when I felt my body start to buzz and it felt almost like I was being put to sleep via anesthesia like a forced sleep but then it faded and although I've read that sleep paralysis is a very scary and uncomfortable experience, I kinda liked it. Am I just weird or was this not sleep paralysis?

      You were entering sleep paralysis

It can be scary if you let it to

I definitely felt as though I was right on the edge of entering a dream and I think I got excited but what do I need to do to ensure I make it through the transition. And for people who think sp is scary just let it happen and try to enjoy the feeling of being teleported or sucked into the dream world haha that's what it felt like to me

Lol, sleep paralyzes is waking up and not being able to move at all and hearing people scream in your ear while hallucinating and see demon like figures

I advise to keep your eyes closed, and just ignore the screaming in your ear, you might also feel like someone else is in the room with you but just remember its all imaginary and nothing can hurt you

I gave up on lucid dreaming because i just can't take the sleep paralyzes

Try DILD or MILD so that you might not be aware during sp

      Hey Nozza (And Ermac), Welcome

It sounds like what you were experiencing could have been SP.

SP is a different experience for everyone. Sometimes it can be scary sometimes it won't be. You just have to remind yourself that any HH you experience during SP is NOT real. Hearing screaming during SP isn't that common. Some common things people do experience is: Random colors, vibrations, whispering in ear, etc.

Sleep Paralysis is commonly associated with the WILD Technique.

I recommend you check out this list of induction techniques. Go through it and try to find a technique you think would be best for you. There is no best technique, it all depends on you. Once you choose a technique stick with it. Don't give up after 2 weeks, assuming it isn't working!

DILD isn't just luck. Read about it here.

MILD is a great technique. If you are interested in it check out this thread.

I also suggest for you to read this thread. It sums up everything a new lucid dreamer should know about, and is very helpful. Good luck!

Make sure to do reality checks all throughout the day and eventually you will do one in a dream and realize your dreaming. That's DILD and MILD is just convincing yourself that you will have a lucid dream but I would check out some of the guides on this site because they are amazing

SP is your body disconnecting from your mind, so yeah, it feels really weird. That also happens under anesthesia

      Holy......................................... cow.

I'm curious to find out the physiological effects of SP on the human body.

What I was taught when I first started dreaming was to literally hug the scary images, with your dream hands. Its so funny and it helps.
Also, if you ever get stuck, just breathe deeper than normal and it'll snap out after 10 sec or so.
Two years later, I'm back. LUCID COUNT RESET, HERE WE GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-

For Lucid Dreamers SP isn't a bad thing actually be very happy when you get into SP and think about it this way, If you are scared of SP its gonna be scary but if you look forward to SP or aren't scared of it the SP wouldn't be terrifying at all!

I've gotten to sp but once it gets intense instead of slipping into a dream it just fades away. How do I slip into the dream

You have to let your HH take over until it becomes a full blown dream. I would also recommend trying VILD. Look here and scroll down to the Visualization WILD section. This is how I transition into a dream from SP most of the time.
