      Wow What was that????

      Hey,

This is all totally new for me ,never even heard of lucid dreaming until about 30 minutes ago!!! I think I had a lucid dream last night but unsure really!

Well this is what happened.......I started to nod off and had a bad dream that someone kept knocking on my front door and everytime I got up there was no one there, I don't know if I physically got up and went to the front door but it sure felt like it. Then I was back in bed and the knocking happened again and I said to myself "don't get up as it is only a dream and no one is there" but then the physical feeling was so wierd it was sort of realisation that my body wasn't moving when I wanted to get up and go to the door....sorry hard to explain. Because it started to scare me (the knocking) I told myself to think about something else and sure enough what I started to think about became what seemed like my reality but I was aware it was a dream and I had total control of my dream like never before. This seemed to go on for a while and then I must have fallen a sleep porpoerly as I remember no more dreaming and now it is morning!

      Was this lucid dreaming?

      Cheers

If you knew you dreaming while in the dream then it was a lucid dream. It sounds like you knew you were dreaming so congrats!

It's because they are part of the dream team.

Good job having a lucid dream. Just stick to keeping a dream journal and practicing your chosen technique and you will be having plenty more.

You became aware of your dream body while still also aware of your sleeping physical body... this is fairly common in a WILD (Wake Initiated Lucid Dream).

This sounds like it was a sleep paralysis experience that transitioned into a WILD (Wake Initiated Lucid Dream). Basically, you fell asleep without losing consciousness. You can learn to make this happen at will. Read around about Sleep Paralysis and WILD, and see if it really does fit your experience. Now that you know how amazing it can be, make it a part of your life
