      Just another new member here...

im completely new to lucid dreaming, i recently discovered it, not sure how, but i immediateley became excited to try it and learn how to do it. However i have no idea how to do it or initiate it rather.

I've read all the induceing techniques but i dont completely understand them.

Ive never had a lucid dream either i dont think, or atleast that i dont recall, but i dont understand how you can convince yourself to be able to ask yourself within a dream if you are actually dreaming, and do these reality checks? i know its maybe because you have to be slightly concious, but i dont know how i get to that stage without either being asleep or just daydreaming while drifting off.

ineed some help, this sounds like an amazing thing to be able to do, and i would love to be able to one day lucid dream atleast once a week, if anyone has any starter tips (i know they're in stickies but i dont understand them completely.

      thanks alot!
      Aaron.

      Hi! Welcome to DV

You can start by reading the tutorials and trying whatever tech appeals to you. You could also start a dream journal, recording all the dreams you can remember having each morning upon waking. This will help your dream recall and will make lucid dreaming easier.

Some easy techs for beginners are MILD, DILD, combined with WBTB. Good luck, see you around.

      Welcome to dreamviews!
Reality checks should be done in waking life regularly whenever you question if you are dreaming or not. When you get into a habit of this, RCs should cross over to your dreams. Whenever you spot something off or see something weird, etc, do a reality check to see if you are dreaming or not.
As Sero said, there are some great tutorials around.
      Good luck!
