      New

Hello everyone this is my first post on Dreamviews. ThePieMan has told me a lot about lucid dreaming and it seems like such an amazing thing to get into.
I hope I can get to know you guys a bit better and learn a lot more about this stuff.

I had a weird experience last night, and I'm not quite sure of what it was exactly.
I was doing MILD, and then started to see short random images. Then I found myself in front of a computer, and it was not working properly, which triggered lucidity. I had a strange physical sensation, of my head and my hands buzzing and shaking, and at the same time I could hear a loud noise, something like strings.
As soon as I became lucid, I felt compelled to dive into my computer's screen, and the next moment I was falling in the sky - strangely, it was blurred and gray on the edges. Then I saw a full moon, coming closer and closer, I lost lucidity and crashed upon the moon...

I lost lucidity again, and found myself in the kitchen, with my brotther uttering ununderstandable words... This made me remember once again that I was dreaming, and at that point I decided to wake up.

What seems strange to me is the constant shifting of the scene, and the buzzing and strings sensations that lasted throughout the dream.
I'm not sure of what it meant... Was this a LD?

      Hey Highlyfe, welcome to Dreamviews.

When were you doing MILD? If you were lying down, you might've ended up having a WILD (wake induced lucid dream) - you actually go from being awake to being in a dream. They usually start off when you're deeply relaxed, and often involve seeing images or scenes before you enter a dream, which is why I'm guessing it could have been one. If not, I can't imagine what happened; I'm guessing it wasn't a daydream though?
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Yea I was lying in bed. But I'm not sure it was a WILD because when I sleep, it feels like I've just had a blackout until morning, with little to no recollection of the previous night's dream. This time was an exception though.

Lucids can typically be more memorable than ordinary dreams. But normally if you don't remember any normal dreams, you won't remember your lucids that well either; I'm surprised you were able to remember as much as you did!

Speaking of remembering dreams, have you considered starting a dream journal? They're great for improving your recall; if you don't remember much as of present, there's a chance you might not remember lucids you'll have down the road.

Hey there. Well.. this is the community I was telling you about. What do you think?

Not sure if its a lucid dream.. Did you at any point realise you were in a dream?

Uncontrolled shifting of scene is not uncommon in inexperienced lucid dreaming. It is sometimes hard to keep control of a dream once you become aware of it. Your brain may not accept the idea of a lucid dream and you could end the dream or lose lucidity as you have said. Experience will improve your stability. Keep trying to replicate the circumstances surrounding your LD. Good Luck

      Highlyfe! Welcome to dreamviews

Awesome experience, like puffin says if you start a dream journal your recall will improve vastly. Also there is an online dreamjournal section so that us members can read through it and share the experiences.

Good luck with your lucid dreaming man!

I think he's got a DJ but just haven't filled it in that much. Remember to always write something in there - no matter how fragmented your dreams are. (This goes for everyone here).

What if the recollection of dreams is completely blank, might the dream recall weaken if I have a habit of getting up instantly after i wake up?

This is how i was before i started writing my dreams down. Just get up and write what you can remember, once you start thinking of your dreams as important, you will remember more!

You're so lucky that you're a natural and can get a damn lucid dream every night and don't even need to record them!! Sometimes its really hard to remember dreams because I wake up and my mind is completely blank lol.

Well... everyone's good at something. It's what makes this world bearable.

      Some tips here

      -Autosuggestion
      -Frequently do RCs
-Write something on the back of your hand to remind you to do RC (maybe this will be carried forward into your dream)
-Write "I will LD" on post it notes and stick them everywhere.

I do not know if anyone else has this problem but I often fall asleep again before I can even write in my dream journal I start to reach for it and bam, I am asleep again. Any advice/ideas/experiences?

Cattle prod next to the bed? That'll wake your ass up!!

Ok, maybe not. But if you fall back asleep that easily you might be a good candidate for DEILD Are you able to keep your eyes closed and stay still if you want to when you wake up?

      Welcome to DV my friend,

I suggest you go to http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-116237/ , it generally covers basic info about the forum and Lucid Dreaming. If you have some questions, don't hesitate to ask. Hope this helps

That does sound like something I could do. I have had non lucid Dream Exit Dreams. Maybe with a little practice this might be the path for me.

... I'm guessing you mean DEILD, not the cattle prod thing?!!

You've got the skill I so far lack for DEILD - I can easily lay perfectly still and keep my eyes closed and remember the last dream, but I usually can't get right back to sleep. I think if I can get ahold of the right kind of timer it will solve that problem... I need one that chimes a few times and then stops, so I don't have to roll over and reach for it to shut it off, and that's programmable so I can set it to wake me up repeatedly in the morning before I would normally wake up.

I know you can get the software timers for cell phones etc, but I don't have a cell and don't plan to get one!!

You could get an alarm for your computer and leave it on over night. I assume you have a computer unless you can access DV with your mind :p I do not know if it is in the room which you sleep in though.

Unfortunately not. The computer is in the basement and I sleep upstairs. I do have a laptop that needs some kind of repair - I could get that fixed and use it I suppose. Thanks - why didn't I think of that before?

Well I tried to DEILD last night and I had no problems with not moving or opening my eyes but I kept waking up in really uncomfortable positions and could not get back to sleep without moving I think that perhaps this was just a one night situation thing and it will not affect me on a regular basis so I will try again tonight. I managed to record one of maybe four or five dreams which I remember waking up from but I guess that is what you expect with DEILD attempts.
