      Smile too real, progress

Hey, had a short lucid I thought I'd share it

I was in sort of a hotel room. There were bunk beds in the middle of the room. I was lying on the bottom bed. The room was pretty bare. I got up got and walked around. I started wondering where I was and how I got there. Then I thought maybe this is a dream. I got excited and looked at my hands. They looked normal. I thought If this is a dream I'll extend my fingers, because thats what happend in my first lucid. My fingers began to extend, not very far but far enough for me to realise it was a dream. Suddenly everything became much clearer, a sort of sensation ran through my whole body. It was amazing.

I got really excited and started to think what should I do. I thought I might try flying, I walked over to the window and undone the latch. Then I started thinking this is pretty realistic, what if this is real. If I jump out I'll die. So I looked at my hands again they were normal. I tried to make them extend again they didn't. I started to get worried, what if this is real? Where am I? I started pacing around the room. the dream started fading, I woke up.

what should I of done? probably another RC? like the nose plug?
You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.

      Wow, congrats! Definitely progress.

I've had dreams like this too, although I usually take the risk and jump off of tall structures or out of windows. (Not such a great idea but I'm more confident than skeptical.) RC's are helpful in that they can confirm you're lucid dreaming, though they don't always work, which is why you should do more than one. Dream stabilization is the main key here. You woke up because you were too excited. Happens to us all. Read the Dream Stabilization and Clarity Tutorial found in the WIKI. I also suggest reading more about the concept of awareness. Puffin's SAT Technique is very helpful, along with The Beginner's Guide To Lucid Dreaming. Have fun!

ha maybe next time i'll go outside and take off from the ground, less danger :p, it just felt so real.

Thanks for the tips! I'll get reading!

It's a matter of confidence, I am very impressed on how stable the dream was.

your right, a simple nose-plug would have told you that you are still dreaming. But at least we dont have to worry that you'll be flying out of any high windows in real life

Good work on the lucid too!

Simply because you can breathe, doesn't mean your alive, or that you really live....
