I think its normal to have a break. Everyone has probably experienced at least one.
The best way is to write down what actually attracts you to lucid dreaming(or whatever else you are doing also). Like a message to yourself. So that next break would be shorter then this one.
Because writing down dreams, working on them, practicing awareness, lucid dreams etc. I see as work on Oneself (I hope I used this word correctly). And once you get on that Path it will call for you always. There will always be a memory of a great feeling when you follow that Path. And you will always come back to it 
Breaks are normal, and try to use them in ur advantage.
And as far as start goes, you know the drill. Recall->reality check->lucid dreaming
