      White men can't jump

I stopped lucid dreaming about 8 months ago and I finally decided to get back into it, last night I had my first LD since I stopped but it seemed a bit odd. First off the dream wasn't very stable, it seemed blurry and I spent a fairly large time between waking and dreaming (feeling both your dream and physical body at the same time is creepy as fuck ) I'm not really sure why but I never tried spinning. I mostly just explored my house and got the feel for being lucid again with out trying to control everything, but walking felt really weird, my feet and legs were tingling and felt heavy, and if I tried to jump I'd become paralyzed for a few seconds, has anyone every heard of this or had it happen?

sorry if this is in the wrong section

Well, it sounds like an unstable lucid and that you were on the border of waking world and the dream world. Sometimes the effects of SP can be felt when you're still in a dream. It can be quite cool, I usually have trouble speaking, holding my head up or moving at all. Sometimes it feels like I'm stroking out.

      Don't worry!

From what I can remember in my own experiences, I usually couldn't throw a punch to save my life (Literally! ). My hand moved painfully slow through the air and would barley register as a feather if it hit anything/anyone. I've never had that problem with my legs or while jumping but I imagine it's because of the same reason. I could throw punches all I wanted once I got more used to stabilizing my dreams more. Spinning never worked for me and usually threw me into a false awakening, however, engaging your sense in the dream are the absolute best way to stabilize them. Smell the air, feel your dream body, hear all the sounds around, and even taste if it's appropriate. Hopefully that will help you gain better control over your body. Good luck!

That is exactly what happens to me in a non lucid dream fight, it is like I am slow motion and I have to use every bit of effort in me just to get the fist to them, and when I hit them it barely does anything. Not too sure why, I guess I don't like fighting in real life, or probably some bad experience.

Back on topic, yes this is the right place to post if you are a Newbie, so welcome if you are!
      Laughed at the strange title.
I recommend Dream Stabilization and Clarity Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views, check it out, learn to stabilize your dream, the reason why you jumped is because you/your subconscious did not feel like you could jump - if that makes sense.

      Congrats on the lucid.
