Newborn babies and death. . .

      Hi All,

One of the newer newbies here . . .had a disturbing dream last night and since I am totally new to finding out the meaning of dreams I decided to start somewhere. . .hope you can help a bit!

I dream't that my girlfriend had a baby, the dream started in the hospital, in the operating room where my girlfriend was giving birth. She was kind of faceless, but I new it was my current girlfriend. The scene was quite vivid, every detail correct and it was a normal C-section. After birth the doctor did all the normal things, checked the airways, cleaned it up and rapped it in a blanket. Then I took the baby and headed straight home, thinking "hey this not not normal procedure" but all was well so I thought it was ok. At this point my girlfriend went missing from the dream for three days. . .

I remember being quite ticked off as nobody (family included) was not at all excited for our new bundle of life. When I got home I was very stressed as we didn't have anything for the baby yet, it was like she never mentioned the pregnancy, I was unaware until the birth. I'm sure there was a couple of things but can't remember it now. . .

Anyway, I managed with the baby for three days until my girlfriend came back, and suddenly we had tons of stuff in plastic bags. Newly bought. . .

I can't remember if it was a boy or girl, but for a glimpse it had a face and was quite beautiful. Then the scene changed, we were suddenly looking for the baby, and after a while my girlfriend said she took the baby to feed it. Then I went looking for it, I found it in a room on the bed. It was dead, like it suffocated or drowned or something. Anyway, when I picked it up it was furry and miss formed, kind of like a dead squirrel (the details are vague here). The dream ended with me taking a walk, bursting with anger as it dawned on me. . .feeling that it was all her fault, that she killed the baby by her own neglect. Then I woke up. . .

Don't really have more info available. . .trying to remember.

Any ideas?? It sure has me in a twist. . .

      Thanks

I'll often times have dreams that have that same feeling. Not necessarily the same situation though. I have two young kids, and I remember dreaming about them being injured or dying pretty often. I'm sure it was due to the constant fear of it. I've also noticed that my dreams tend to take tangents, and hypothetical situations very easily. So anyways, I don't know how your dream lay have come about, but it may have been a fear or possible expectation of your gf being pregnant. From there, you went through the hospital stuff, and the next step was to take the baby home which you started to do. You caught yourself, since you don't take them home right away, and that caused everything follow a tangent. My dream would usually go with that scenario, and since it was odd, could follow some pretty strange hypotheticals. You seem to have felt like you were all alone in raising it for a few days, so possibly in fear of the baby being hurt or dying. The gf entered the dream again, and that situation came to fruition, and ended up being her fault. All seem to follow the tangent pretty well, for my dream style anyways.

I don't really honk dreams have too much significant meaning. I think the subjects can all be about things that have gone on during your last few days, or what is on your mind. Then the plots themselves seem to follow your hopes and fears, and trying to work situations out with hypotheticals.

Hopefully that may have helped in some sort. If you were wanting a different type of dream analysis, maybe someone else can chime in.

Well it's definitely a nightmare, the theme of it might be because you're perhaps expecting a baby or consider getting one? Or want one in the future. Try not to think of the dream, it sounds pretty awful.
