Dream fragments... and some more questions!

I got up about an hour and a half ago, and I thought up a bunch of new questions. Thank you for trying to answer them!

      1. Should I write in my DJ, even though I only had a few fragments that were so vague I can only remember some parts here and there?

      2. Which is the better way to get an LD, a WBTB or a DEILD? For me, they both worked when I tried them; however they were only about a minute or less!

      3. Last night I preformed a DEILD and had a false awakening. I began writing in my DJ, then noticed something was strange. I did an RC, then woke up. Does this count as an LD? Should I add it to my LD count?

      4. How effective is it to have a list of goals to do in an LD? Does it help much?

      5. I think I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. My objective last night was to "recognize anything strange or out of place, then do an RC". However, my dreams last night weren't all that strange. (at least not as strange as the previous night!!) I think I should go back to even simpler, to something like just "remember your dreams". What do you think?

      Thanks again!

Any attempt to recollect memory of a dream improves your recall, you should write down anything you can remember if you aim to improve it.

      2. Which is the better way to get an LD, a WBTB or a DEILD? For me, they both worked when I tried them; however they were only about a minute or less!
I believe the only advantage of WILD is you have more choice of when you attempt, and that you are more concious when you do. Other than that it's very similar. (Probably down to preference).

      3. Last night I preformed a DEILD and had a false awakening. I began writing in my DJ, then noticed something was strange. I did an RC, then woke up. Does this count as an LD? Should I add it to my LD count?
Yeah! You realised you were dreaming and woke up, still a lucid dream.

      4. How effective is it to have a list of goals to do in an LD? Does it help much?
Depends on the person, although I guess it can help motivate you to lucid dream, and motivation plays a large part in success!

      5. I think I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. My objective last night was to "recognize anything strange or out of place, then do an RC". However, my dreams last night weren't all that strange. By objective you mean mantra? If so then the shorter the easier you will remember it, I use "I'm Dreaming" as it's first person and very short. If you aren't talking about mantras then I don't see anything wrong with that objective and remember things don't always work first time with Lucid Dreaming.

      Keep up the good work!

      From a fellow new LDer

      1) Yes, always write down anything you remember, even bits and pieces.
      2) Whatever works best for you. You can make it last longer with Stablization techniques like hand rubbing and spinning.
      3) A lucid dream is defined as knowing you are dreaming while dreaming. So, if you knew you were in a dream, you had an LD.
      4) I would imagine, but I don't have an LD goal list yet. I need one for life first, lol
      5) My dreams are like that too. Very much the scenery is like that of real life and rarely will something happen for me say, "Holy %&*$, I'm dreaming!". You could try ADhttp://www.dreamviews.com/f49/all-da...gyoshi-113253/A and SAhttp://www.dreamviews.com/f49/sat-sp...puffin-100798/T. I had a lucid right after reading the ADA article

This may seem generic, but I'm new to this also. It takes time and determination. Good luck!

1.) Yeah, you should. As you start writing those fragments you could start to remember more of the dream! You could even remember all of it!

2.) I think that it really just depends on you personally. Whatever one appeals to you the most, and the one that YOU think is the easiest. Sorry your lucid dream only lasted a minute! You need to work on stabilizing the dream in order to make it last longer. Read this stabilization tutorial if you haven't already.

3.) If you realized you were dreaming while in a dream, it counts as a lucid. Go ahead and add it

4.) It depends on you. It definitely helps motivate you which can help you attain more lucids. An organized list can help you remember all of your goals while in a lucid as well.

5.) Well it seems like with what you're doing right now, you're already getting lucids! I would probably recommend to keep up what you're doing. It's up to you though and if you feel you need to just focus on your recall, go for it!

      Hope this helped
