I was in total control in my dream telling people that they were in my dream

I could do everything I wanted! I have never heard of lucid dreaming before but I just searched it. I told people that they were in my dream and do what they like. I was amazed because every time I dream I try to take control but then I wake up. Thus time I was in control from the beginning and I didn't even try.

Hey Schmichael and welcome to DV!

Congratulations on your lucid dream! They are quite spectacular experiences aren't they?
It seems with this lucid dream that it was induced completely random. Perhaps you noticed something strange or maybe its the fact that your degree of sleepiness was low enough for you to remain concious but not enough to wake up. Its good to get over the first one because they give confidence on further lucids. Anyway, it sounds like you might be having trouble inducing lucid dreams, you should definitely take a look at the wiki and this beginners introduction to lucid dreaming which also directs you to some more complicated stuff if you finish reading.

      Cheers!

I don't think wanting control over dream characters will get you very far in dreamworld.

I wouldn't say that. Any form of dream control will help anyone with getting better at it. Also, controlling DC's could actually be very useful. A lot of people use Dc's as tools to accomplish tasks in a lucid dream.

Now to his post: Congratulations on having a lucid dream! Pretty fun huh? Like Robot Butler said, prepare to get addicted man .

May I suggest stabilizing your dream next time? You didn't seem to have a big problem with dream stability in this one but stabilization in further lucid dreams will help you out. Click here for the dream stabilization and clarity tutorial. It has some good information as well as techniques.

Also be sure to check out the beginner's guide that quantiq linked you! It has some great tips!

      Hope this helps! Happy dreaming!

      Hi there my friend,

Glad you've joined DV. Interesting dream you've got there. But let me tell you this: There's more than controlling the people in your dreams(or what we call them here in DV, DC or dream character), you can also control nature itself or defy the laws of physics. Everything you want. I would recommend you read the Dream Stabilization and Clarity Tutorial To prolong your LD experience and make out the most of it. The thing here is being connected with the dream itself if you want to prolong the dream. Act as if you and the dream are one. Be aware of how the dream setting and notice how the dreamscape shifts its appearance.

Just keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it in no time. If you've got questions, feel free to ask by either posting a thread or messaging a dream guide(expert in LD) in this dream guide list. Hope this helps
