If you are brave and lucid enough to jump, you won't die from it. You may fly and you may fall, but if you fall you will just plummet into subconscious realms of mind and you will rise again. |

I don't have much experience with lucid dreams having had only two and even less experience with flying so my question is if you jump out of a building or off the top of somewhere high, will instincts kick in and you start flying or will you simply plummet to a blood dream death? Any comments or past experiences appreciated. |

I've done it in many non-lucids - any time I find myself on a rooftop or a very high place I guess I can tell it's a dream and I jump off, feeling a rush of joy as I do it. Then I always end up flying in some way or other - sometimes right away, sometimes just before I hit the ground. Yes, like eldante says, bravery is key. |

"For a long time it gave me nightmares, having to witness an injustice like that. It was a constant reminder of how unfair this world can be, I can still hear them taunting him. 'Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids!'... How come they just couldn't give him some cereal?"
Falling is one of my favorite things to do in LDs. I love the rush I feel. What I often do is to stand at the edge of the cliff or high building and let myself fall backwards. Sometimes it's really scary to do. (Sometimes I have to give myself a little hover before I do this to reassure myself that this is just a dream and I won't kill myself.) But I like to fall backward so when I am falling I'm looking at the sky. I don't see the ground rushing up at me. This way the fall lasts a long time. I fall way past where the ground would have been. Then I usually feel the ground hit me softly (like falling backwards on your bed). Then I can fly up and do it again. |

Hi there my friend, |
|
Flying seems to be different for everyone. Some people can just jump off and fly their first time. For me, it took years to fly decently. I ended up using a technique kind of like Ironman, where I push an invisible force through the soles of my feet and sometimes my palms for stability. I need to jump off the ground first to do this, but it works pretty well. If you're scared, you can just try jumping off the second story your first time. |

OMG I never thought of this! If you do drugs or if you don't know for sure you are dreaming, don't jump. What you are doing when you are dreaming is not with your physical body. If you can tell you are dreaming, everything is different and you can do and experience many things that the body itself is not physically capable of. |
