      Trouble keeping lucidity in dream?

Ok, I was in a dream. Suddenly was like "WOAH, I'M DREAMING". But then I lost consciousness. But like two seconds later, "WOAH, DREAM". This repeated at least 3 times.

      So, is this common?

Lately I've had super good recall so I stopped keeping a dream journal. And I never do reality checks, so this was spontaneous. I never even do a RC when I become lucid. I just suddenly think "DREAM" and freeze. I always remember going to sleep when I go lucid.

Progress: DILD: 100+, WILD: 1/2, WBTB WILD: 2

Goals: Achieve WILD, Be able to induce a WILD on command.

Thats happened to me before. I kept waking up into another dream. Ithink its pretty common. Even though you have good recall still carry on writing a dream journal not just so you improve your recall more bit so you can look back on your adventures! And still do reality checks. You might not be in a dream!

same here, I had a dream I was with this girl and I kept doing backflips on scooters (even though I hate scooters) I was at this camp. Then I was like? Since when do I go to camp, or something around this lines and became lucid for like 3 seconds. Forgot to try a RC and I became all blurry and lost the REM sleep

Hello there, yes this is a common thing that happens to new lucid dreamers, I can help you out.

So the thing with RCs is that they aren't really the whole reason you become lucid. The term "lucid" pretty much means to be aware. A lot of lucid dreamers on here actually practice awareness techniques like Puffin's SAT technique or KingYoshi's ADA technique when it comes to DILD. Because in dreams, reality checks more confirm the fact that you are dreaming, awareness is most of the time the leading contributor to having lucid dreams. Now I'm not going to write a whole tutorial on here about how to be aware, the tutorials I linked you will explain it more in depth. But basically, if you practice awareness throughout the day with these techniques, it will lead to a higher frequency in lucid dreams, not to mention a higher state of awareness in them.

Also be sure to be stabilizing your dreams when you become lucid. There are a few ways to do this such as: Rubbing your hands, feeling/rubbing things around you, or anything that involves you in the dream. Practicing stabilizing your lucid dreams will lead to longer lucid dreams and more clear lucid dreams. Click here for a great tutorial on dream stabilization

I hope this helps you man!

This has happend to me as well a couple of times. I realize I'm dreaming, and then try to control it, but sometimes I just go along with what's happening in the dream and I forget I'm dreaming, only to "rediscover" it again a bit after. Frustrating to say the least ^^

Yes, it's fairly common for things like this to happen, it's gonna take some practice to get your lucids lasting longer
