      Some Lucid Dreaming Questions

Hey guys! I just joined because last night I had the best Lucid Dream I've ever had. I've had quite a few in my life, but this one is the only one where I felt completely in control. I have a few questions about them, and I want to know how to have them more often.

      1. How do I have them more often?

      2. How can I stay asleep without waking myself up because of the shock of knowing I'm dreaming

      3. What can I do before bed to influence Lucidity?

      4. Can I experience emotions or feelings in my dreams like, Happiness, Sadness, Pain, Cold, Hot, or Orgasm? Lol

I would really appreciate if anyone could answer my questions so I can begin Lucid Dreaming more often. Thanks a bunch!

      Hello and welcome!

      1. How do I have them more often?
Well there are alot of things that this depends on, for example the MILD technique depends on memory, visualisation skills. But generally the aspects that affect the frequency of lucid dreams are intent, experience, right technique, right amount of sleep, recall.

      2. How can I stay asleep without waking myself up because of the shock of knowing I'm dreaming
This mainly comes with practice, like anything you are excited the first time you do it, but staying becomes natural after a few lucids.

      3. What can I do before bed to influence Lucidity?
MILD technique, visualise a dream scene and think "I'm dreaming" or some form of auto suggestion.

      4. Can I experience emotions or feelings in my dreams like, Happiness, Sadness, Pain, Cold, Hot, or Orgasm? Lol

      Welcome to the forums, mate!

      1. How do I have them more often?
Practice. As you seem to be having them on your own already, I think the DILD technique would be extremely effective. Go check out the tutorials section, and look up more about that technique. A big part of Lucid Dreaming, also, is improving dream recall (the amount of dreams you remember, and the quality of the memories). You can improve this by keeping a dream journal. Just have a journal by your bed, and every time you wake up, write what you can remember to the fullest of detail, even if it is something as simple as a color or feeling. This will boost dream recall greatly, and also show you common occurrences throughout your dreams that can help you to become Lucid!

      2. How can I stay asleep without waking myself up because of the shock of knowing I'm dreaming
As Arch said, practice. The more you have, the more experienced you will get and you will be able to stay in the dream longer. As a general rule, try to keep your heart-rate steady, and if you keep getting too excited try standing still and simply enjoy the surroundings until your excitement lowers a bit. A common early-on blunder is to try to do too much to fast. If you get to stressed to try to finish a certain task before the dreams end, you will likely get too excited and wake up.

      3. What can I do before bed to influence Lucidity?
Read through your dream journal, MILD technique, read through someone ELSE'S dream journal (especially the lucid dreams, many people have their dreams posted on these forums). Tell yourself (and believe it) that you will have a lucid dream, and generally be enthusiastic about it. All these things help before bed.
      4. Can I experience emotions or feelings in my dreams like, Happiness, Sadness, Pain, Cold, Hot, or Orgasm? Lol
Yes. Dreams can include the same feelings as in real life, and sometimes even feel more intense than in real life. As for an orgasm, people often have trouble with that one, as it is easy to lose concentration which makes the dream fade, causing you to wake up.

Hi there my friend, I will be more than happy to answer your questions

      1. How do I have them more often?
Dream recall my friend, it is one of the basic foundations needed in order to achieve Lucid Dreams. Try reading the official Dream Recall tutorial to know more info. It would also help if you get yourself a dream journal to aid you in recalling your dreams. Aside from dream recall, confidence and commitment is also a requirement if you want to have more LDs.

      2. How can I stay asleep without waking myself up because of the shock of knowing I'm dreaming
Stabilizing your dream the moment you become lucid will help you prevent the chances of waking up. When you become lucid, stop for a moment, take a deep breath, then stabilize your dream by either rubbing your 2 palms or spinning your body. But asides from this 2 techniques, there are also a lot of stabilization methods out there like falling backwards or touching objects that might enhance your sense of touch in dreams. Try reading the official dream stabilization tutorial to know more info

      3. What can I do before bed to influence Lucidity?
Like what the others have said, the MILD technique is an excellent method in influencing dreams. Try reading the official MILD tutorial. Take note that a dream journal is somewhat needed in this method.

      4. Can I experience emotions or feelings in my dreams like, Happiness, Sadness, Pain, Cold, Hot, or Orgasm? Lol
Yes, the feeling you can feel in a dream can be compared to that of real life. But the quality of the dream affects the quality of the feeling. If you have a dull lucid dream, your emotions/feelings tends to be dull and not life-like. But of course, dream stabilization might help in increasing your dream quality hence increasing your feeling's quality.

      Hope this helps
