      Lucid without knowing

In my life I had had quite a few lucid dreams in my life but I never knew about lucid dreams. My dreams became lucid if I have done something in my dream that would normally get me hurt but I didn't feel anything.

I actually found out what lucid dreaming was when I searched for the meaning of the word 'lucid' on Google. 'Lucid Capsule' was the name of a path in some music software plugin I used long ago.

      Just thought I'd inform you

      Hi, welcome to the forum!

      I guess you're a natural lucid dreamer, it's relatively rare, you're lucky!

      Hi there my friend,

Nice to have you in the family. Bet you'll have a fun time here in DV. Anyways, here are a few points to consider:
      • Improve your Dream Recall
      • Get yourself a Dream Journal to aid you in your dream recall
      • Make it a habit to ask yourself wether you're dreaming or not
      • Read the Beginner's Guide to know the basics
      • Be patient and have confidence in yourself
      • Don't be afraid to ask any questions

Hope this helps and Good luck in the field of Lucid Dreaming

      Hi Groose, Welcome to Dreamviews!

It is actually quite common for someone to have experiences several lucids before without actually knowing what it was. I'm glad you decided to look up lucid and found the forums! How is your dream recall? Are you planning to increase the amount of lucids you have? Anyway, if you have any questions...just send a PM!

Good luck, I hope to see you around

Well, I have quite a good dream recall, but not that excellent, sometimes I wake up not knowing if I even dreamed something at all. I have a few of my own induction techniques that just need a bit of practice.

I don't know if this really counts as being a natural, does it? Aren't natural lucid dreamers generally people who just have them all the time without trying? I had a good number of lucid dreams before I had ever heard anyone else mention them, but I'm definitely not a natural, at least not in the sense that they come to me without something very obvious in the dream giving it away.

Anyway... welcome, Goose8. I'm fairly new myself so I can't give much advice except what's already been said, and I'll emphasize the importance of keeping a dream journal! I had fairly good recall already but it's already kicked mine up a good deal and I've only been doing it for about a week. Really just the thought that I will be writing them down is enough to improve my memory of them.
