      Problem with SP

      Hello.

I just joined DV and tried to write thread here.
I really want to do WILD but have a problem with SP.
When I fall into SP, My body(legs, arms, stomach and chest) is paralyzed but I still can control my eyes(open), tongue(move easily) and can hardly control my head(shake slowly with headache), of course there is no visual effect. and SP automatically returns to nomal condition within 20sec.

I have read some suitable answers that say it is because I'm not fully relaxed.
But I can't or don't know the method to relax more in that situation. I just come back to normal condition even if I don't move my eyes, tongue and head at all..

Is there anyone who know about this problem, please give me some advice.

      Thanks

      Welcome!

Ok, so from what I read, it seems your eye's are open during Sp? Perhaps if you close your eyes, and try not to move anything. Not your head, not your tongue, or your eyes. Just keep perfectly still and take deep breaths, in through your nose and out through your nose or mouth. One thing you can do to relax is look straight ahead as if you were trying to look through your eyelids, it will be black, but try and act as if you can see past the darkness of your eyelids as if you were moving through a black tunnel I suppose, while taking deep breaths.

If any part of your body moves when this happens, then you are not relaxed. Just sit still and let it pass. If the looking through eyelids thing doesn't work, try to visualize nothing but whiteness and remember, if you think about the SP you'll most likely wake up. After the sensations of SP go away, don't think that you've failed, try and do a reality check if you can remember to, as to make sure whether your in a dream or not.

This is the best I can offer based off of all the reading I've done, hope it helps!

      Hi there my friend,

First of all, SP can have different effects to different people. For example, person A may experience effect X but not experience effect Y as person B does. So it's just natural for you to be able to move some parts of your body and not see some visual effects during an SP. Also, it's possible that you've experienced a false awakening after the SP. Have you done any RCs after the SP fades off? You might have been inside an LD already but you went back to sleep. Hope this helps and feel free to reply back

      Thanks for the answer.
I fall into SP with eyes closed like normal. then I can open my heavy eyelid and see my real room(can move eye direction). but it is hard to think that there was false awakening when I was in this situation because I still couldn't move my body. if it is false awakening, well it would be fun.
I will try RC or just keep eyes closed with deep breathing for full relax.
Anyway still wondering why I fall into 'half' SP instead of normal SP

      Welcome,
I know it's weird to experience SP, but don't worry just try to relax and allow the dream to form round out.
WILD is tough so don't be bothered if you can't do it.
Well done for getting this far!
