Difference between a realistic dream and LDing? Can I LD about a previous dream?

The other night I had a dream about this guy and a gig I'm going to on Friday. It felt so real, and as stupid as it sounds I swear I fell in love with him. When I woke up, remembering it about half way through the day, I almost started crying in realisation that I had 'lost' him. I could feel the memory slipping away.

Can someone please tell me what the difference between a realistic dream and a lucid dream is?

Also, can I learn how to LD in the hope to recall and re-dream this dream?

The primary difference is that in a LD you know that you are actually currently asleep in your bed, and that everything in front of you is dreamscape. You KNOW that you are at this very moment dreaming and can take control of the situation. Alot of people think they have had an LD, but honestly if you "think" it was an LD it probably wasn't. An LD is something you will KNOW you had and will be in awe of for several days if not months after.

It sounds like you just had a very vivd dream. It would be however possible to bring the individual you speak of into a lucid dream by your command if you were to become lucid in a dream. I always find it fun to speak to somone i know in real life in my dream, then speak to them on the topic in real life to see if there dream self and there real self match up.

      Enjoy and GOOD LUCK!

It's actually easy to identify and differentiate a normal dream to a lucid dream. As long as you're aware that you're dreaming, it's safe to say that you're lucid dreaming. But, if you're not aware that you're dreaming(regardless of its vividness), it's just called a dream. Also, I would like to let you know that everybody can lucid dream. There are a lot of methods out there like the MILD, DILD and the DILD. Once you get the hang of it, you can do everything you want. You can fly, have x-ray vision, and even reconstruct the past dreams you had. Hope this helps

Lucid dreams are being aware it's a dream, realistic dreams are just normal dreams you remember vividly.
I've had feelings like that in a few dreams, don't worry
and any time you have a lucid dream, you can do whatever you want! meet back with this dream character if you wish ^_^
