Hi and welcome to DV! What you're describing is called Sleep Paralysis and is completely safe. It can however be very frightening, because once you're in SP, you're basicly on the border of sleep. You start to hallucinate and can get all kinds of weird sensations, often threatening ones. What you did by relaxing is that you made yourself go to sleep and your fear started a nightmare. |

Hi, Thanks for the advice, i do recall feeling my body at one point as i said limp as i could not move at all. It really did freak me out and everyone i ask gives me a odd look. I obviously googled this and found all sorts from poltergeists to dreams. This is kinda the big thing thats happened. On the run up to this there has been a few small things from being in a dream where i see the room and myself asleep, then all my doors start swinging opening and it turns nasty making me awake rather confused but scared. That time happened my girlfriend had just come in so i just let it go but was always on my mind when i went to bed what if this happens again. |

Just have a positive view on everything that is dreaming, and you should be fine. Now that you know what it is and how you can use it, you won't be as frightened next time. Try to see it as an amazing adventure, something extraordinary going on, and ofcourse 100% safe. |
