      Do Binaural beats help?

Hey guys. As you can tell by my post count, I am new to this forum and lucid dreaming in general and would like to ask a question. Now, I don't think I've actually had a real lucid dream at all in my life so far but I am really interested in them and would eventually like to have them and be able to have them at will. I seem to be having some difficulty using the WILD method to enter myself into a lucid dream. I've tried numerous techniques, the one I'm using at the moment is counting down from 100 and concentrating on my breathing so I stay conscious while I go into the dream state. Apparently, when you get to about the number 30 you start to feel the transaction from waking state to dream state and you enter the lucid dream but I manage to count down from 100 to 0 at least 5 times before falling fully unconscious and not entering a conscious dream state at all.

I am sure that I am doing it correctly, I do not even move slightly so sleep paralysis should happen but it does not. In my last attempt, I had to give up and pull the sheet off me because my body was so hot even though it is winter and the heating was off. This is why I am seeking new, easier ways to help induce myself into a dream. So, do binaural beats work?

All answers are appreciated, thank you in advance

      Hello,

Binaural beats may "help" but in my experience are unnecessary and shouldn't be relied on. Having trouble with WILD is no handicap for successful lucid dreaming. I suggest you take a good look into WBTB and DEILD, and thoroughly familiarize yourself with these techniques. Its what I used to entirely depend on, and I managed to achieve a solid few lucid dreams per night at least three days a week. I am now working on lucid dreaming again after taking a break for about a year, and I plan on revisiting those methods exclusively.

You don't need supplements, music, apps, or light machines to get lucid easily and regularly. I've always felt its a lazy, un-fulfilling waste of time and money.

I recommend going to sleep no later than 10PM if you want to be able to have decent lucid dreams that could almost be guaranteed for around the 4AM - 5AM mark. Sleeping later adds an extra challenge to lucid dreaming that can be done without. Be sure to let thoughts pass through your mind if you try to WILD off the bat, I don't believe in all the counting down junk-- keeps me awake. If you need a way to feel heavy and speed up the borderline dream state, look up reverse blinking; works miracles.

Thanks a lot for the reply, I appreciate it greatly.
I do already combine the WBTB method with WILD to try and ensure that I enter a lucid dream but it has not worked so far. I don't think the DEILD method is right for me because on some nights I don't remember my dreams at all so perhaps I need to work on dream recall.

I also think that using things such as pills to help induce a lucid dream is rather like cheating your way into your subconscious mind and if possible I would like to be able to lucid dream naturally. However, somebody suggested these beats to me as they said that the brain produces these low frequency waves when we sleep anyway and listening to them kind of speeds the process along and can help with lucid dreaming. This is the ONLY kind of thing I am willing to use if I feel I need to use it to help me with Lucid Dreaming but I do not want to become dependent on them to have a lucid dream.

I usually go to bed quite late like 3-4 am so that could be the problem. I'll look up reverse blinking and try it tonight to see if that helps. And as I said, I'll only ever use these beats just to experience my first lucid dream if I cannot achieve it on my own, I just feel pretty desperate at the moment because I've been trying to lucid dream for a few weeks now with no success whatsoever lol.

Thanks again for the reply ^.^
