      My introduction and first experience!

      Dear companions of lucidity,

In this short post I'd like to introduce myself.
My name is Bo, I'm 21 years young and having a lucid experience has always been on my bucket list ever since I heard about it when I was about 17.

I only tried lucid dreaming once back then with a friend, but we didn't have a lot of success. We read somewhere online that we should just go to bed like normal and we had to wake up for a few minutes in the middle of the night and go back to sleep. So we did.. and ofcourse it didn't work. Did I mention we were pretty baked? lol.

I never tried lucid dreaming again after that though I did think of it sometimes. Untill about 3 or 4 weeks ago I read some articles on lucid dreaming. I became very interested again because I wanted to try this for myself and I wanted to see if it is possible to solve real world issues in your dreams, like personal confrontations or problems concerning study.
So I kept a dream journal, read a lot about lucid dreaming, and tried different binaural beats in my bed. I also did about 2 or 3 reality checks every day; you could say I got pretty dedicated (though i'm sure not as dedicated as most of you are!!).

And this night the miracle happened: I had a lucid experience.
It was very different to what I had expected. But I will explain everything in detail in another post describing the lucid experience itself. I will post a link as soon as I made that thread!

Why did I join this forum? To exchange knowledge and share (lucid) dreaming stories, and to discuss possible real uses of lucid dreaming! I hope I'm at the right place!

      Welcome to DreamViews!

It seems you are already well on your way with keeping a dream journal and doing reality checks. However, I still suggest you read through Puffin's Beginner's Guide to Lucid Dreaming in case you missed something. This guide covers the basic information about lucid dreaming, as well as where to get started.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Five lucid dreams, and they all look pretty vivid. That is an excellent night.

Welcome aboard. I hope this is only the beginning

thanks a lot everyone! I read the beginners guide for dreaming.. lots of cool stuff in there. I especially like the link to 'Naiya' DILD&WILD secrets.

For my dream journal I use an app for my iPhone to write them down. Also I write them in my native language (dutch), and it would be a pretty big hassle to copy and translate ALL of my dreams that I write down.
It would be really cool though if there was a way to synchronize those dreams with this site. (Hint: You guys should develop an app )
