Just beginning to be able to recall at least one dream per night

I have started being able to do the one dream at least and so I've decided to try starting to experiment with WILD's and MILD techniques. No success and in fact my dream recall has suffered as a result. Is this just and intermediate stage of progress or am I just not ready to move forward yet?

You're fine to move forward where you are. How long as it been since your recall dropped? If it's only been a few days then it's most likely just a small dry spell. I, myself haven't remembered a dream since tuesday. Besides, MILD should in no way harm your recall, and the only way I see WILD having any effect is because it takes longer for you to fall asleep. Are you combining WBTB with WILD? If you are then I would advise you to go to a bed 10-30 minutes earlier so you still get the same amount of sleep. If you don't get a good amount then your recall will suffer.

Thanks. Yea, it's only been a few days but every time I've tried to do the WBTB with the WILD I have no recall. 4 nights in a row. I was just beginning to get used to the luxury of actually remembering my dreams. I think you might be right about the amount of sleep. I've adjusted the go to bed and final wake up times to adjust for the extra time awake but the quality of my sleep is not good and I wake up frequently and have trouble falling back to sleep quickly. I'm kind of a sporadic sleeper habitually but its like the project of doing a WILD is disturbing my sleep quality. I'll keep on trying. Thanks for the encouragement.

It takes longer than some people to LD than others, but right now you're just in the beginning in the LDing process. Just stay confident and persistent. You have to be persistent with certain techniques. Good luck!

What can actually help with dream recall is keeping a journal of what you did when you where awake, a diary in other words. Here is the original thread: http://www.dreamviews.com/f15/if-you...ams-try-93005/
      hope this helps!

Thanks!!! I get a good feeling about this one. I've actually been intuitively feeling like that would help to remember my day before I sleep but writing it down adds that element of continuity of what I'm trying to do in my dreaming life. I'm going to begin this tonight.
