Thread: What is a dream guide and how do you access him/her/it?

When I say Dream guide i mean the... well, entities that you encounter in your dreams that guide you, not the guides here on the site.

I've done a lot of searching (both Google and the forums, even the lucid dreaming subreddit) but I can't seem to find a detailed answer.

All I know about these "dream guides" is that they're re-occurring characters in your dream that are present throughout it. So what I want to know is, what exactly is it, and what does it do? And obviously how do I find it when I finally do get successful lucid dreams?

Basically, dream guides are just knowledgeable dream characters there to guide your dreams, hence the name. It takes different methods for everyone to find their dream characters- i've tried twice and both times, I found different girls, or maybe it was the same girl with a different appearance, who knows. Dream Guides are also said to be an easier access to your subconscious in general.

My DG came to me in my very first "actual" LD (fully lucid). I didn't know he was my DG at the time, but I've seen him more than once since. I don't know if this is normal, but for me, it seemed as though I had known him for a very long time, and I instantly trusted him. He literally guides me in my dreams when I need him most. I also just have this sixth sense that tells me its him now... as every time I see him, he looks different (except that hes always older than me, and always has a crazy hairdo). My DG actually taught me all my dream control techniques, and he will make me more lucid at times when I'm not. Hope this helps!

im jealous.. i cant make contact with other "people" in my dreams. that, and there has never been anything in my dreams that has ever recurred. (iv never seen the same thing twice, atleast anything that i can remember) except for this one nightmare that kept giving me panic attacks when i was 9, but there were no people involved in the dream,

iv never seen any sort of ojbect, person, or place, thats shown itself more than once in any of my dreams. and thinking about it now, frustrates me.

Really? Not even your parents or friends?

You can try incubating dreams by looking at pictures of what you want to dream about. I also suggest imagining yourself a dream in which the person/place/object plays a prominent role. Imagine for about ten minutes each night and you should be good.

last time i tried concentrating on one thing, i would up re watching ironman in my mind.. having ADHD sucks for this.. i can think about more than 50 random things in 10 minutes.
