Hey guys |
Sounds like you had two lucid dreams, I think. To clarify, lucid dream is a dream where you recognize you're dreaming while you're still in the dream. So your first lucid was after you looked into the mirror, and the second lucid being the 5th/6th lucid? |
The 5/6th false awakening was actually when I kinda last my lucidity and forgot I was dreaming |
Ahh. So you had your first lucid, and then an FA > FA > FA > FA > FA, yes? In which you were all lucid? |
I think I was lucid initially, and then regained my lucidity after the first few false awakenings, but after a few more I think I kinda lost it or just gave up and wanted it to end |
Well congratulations! On both your first lucid dream and your first lucid dream chain ^__^ keep up the good work, dude! |
Yay, gold star for moi |
If you see that you get FAs a lot, you should reality check every time you wake up. Like- make that your first priority, even before your dream journal. |
Have to say I've never had anything close to lucidity or false awakenings before |
Yeah, that's what I thought too. But you'd be surprised how many FAs you might catch. You should try it out for a month or two and see how that goes. |
Have you got any thoughts on why my reality checks failed to show I was in a dream, or why it was so out of control ? |
When you do your reality checks in waking life, do your reality checks and expect what would happen if it were a dream. As for control, it's all about expectations and confidence. You could try visualising. For the most part, just expect it to happen. |
Well for example when I do the finger through hand test I will expect my finger to go through, no problem |
Hm. Try doubling your reality checks up with "how did I get here", then |
I tried walking out the door but the dream dragged me back in and reset, like "oh silly you, you are't ready for UNLIMITED POWER |
Problem is though, I did the reality checks and they seemed to work fine indicating I was awake, even though I knew I was dreaming still because of the location I was at |
AGH FALSE AWAKENINGS SUCK </3. Seems like you did have a lucid dream though. Congrats =) Welcome! |
Thanks Castles |
Was it particularly traumatic? or is it just a new experience? |
Well, when I false awake I can sense something is wrong every time. I do reality checks and I realize I'm dreaming and spend time some time calming down. Then I wake again and go through morning rituals. Again. And again. Then I start to wonder if I'll ever wake up for real at all (I know this is silly, but it always crosses my mind in the other world) If it helps I have really bad anxiety issues that could contribute as well. |
That kinda sounds like what I was having this morning with my continuous stream of awakenings, how often does it happen for you? |
You must find lucid dreaming a pretty smooth ride other than the occasional FA though, right? |
