      My Dreams Are Frustrating

Problem #1 : It just seems like my entire dream is just a dreamsign, and there's nothing weird to realize and say "hey, am I dreaming?", because my entire dream is weird. I don't turn on lights or look at clocks or wake up in the morning in my dreams, I just do things like fight Star Wars characters and just appear in unknown places. How can I recognize a dreamsign when I never perform any of the common dreamsign actions?

Problem #2 : My dreams are all in the third person. It's just like I'm watching it all happen from a corner or something, I'm not actually me in them. It would seem to be impossible to become lucid in a dream when you're not even anything. Is there anything I can do to have dreams in the first person? I think I've only had one dream like this, I went to school like on a normal day, everything felt real, and then I looked down and saw that I was naked. I got real embarassed and then I woke up. This dream was about 3 years ago, and I don't think I've had one like it since.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

if there all in 3rd person than ask yourself 'am i dreaming' every time you see the back of your head (because other than looking in a mirror the only time you can see the back of your head is in a dream)

Well I'll take a crack at problem number one. It was really hard for me to have DILDs (where you become lucid in a dream) because I also didn't think I could ever recognize dream signs. Usually I was completely unaware and oblivious in my dreams...just like following a movie script...never would have even occurred to me that I was dreaming. I never did things like turning on light switches or looking at clocks either. Lucid dreaming is very personal for everyone and you really just have to find what works for you.

Most importantly, if you haven't already done so start a dream journal and write down everything about your dreams as soon as you wake up. Then you WILL be able to pick out your dream signs. To me it already sounds like you have some. Fighting Star Wars characters and appearing places out of no where. The more dream signs you can pick out the greater your chances of becoming lucid. And maybe the next time you are mid-saber fight with a Star Wars character you will stop and say "holy shit this is impossible I must be dreaming"....or if you appear somewhere out of no where "how did I get here? I must be dreaming".

I know it sounds difficult because I was the same way once...it just takes practice. And it is the most AMAZING feeling when you realize that you are dreaming (like during a nightmare) and then suddenly this feeling of happiness and calmness comes over you and you might actually laugh. Sometimes I do. And then you can keep fighting whoever you were fighting...or you can turn them into a hot guy (or girl depending on personal preference )...or fly away lol. It's worth it.

As far as your other problem I think that the more dreams you can recall the more you will find yourself in first person. Maybe you just tend to remember the dreams where it is third person more? The dream journal should help you with this. And like Gargen mentioned, you can also use that as a Dream Sign. Good luck!!

You went into 3rd Person dreaming after the shock of finding yourself naked in a dream. Okay, you will have to go back to that point and not be shocked to find yourself naked. It is a common enough dream, and it is typical to want to be modest, and there is the glum feeling of embarrassed, but the dream goes on with that "Oh, well..." attitude. And when one looks around, nobody is ever particularly mortified at one's nakedness. I have seen no stares, and heard no laughter, or sensed any derisive sneers. It is just one of those naked dreams.

So, you need to suggest to yourself that you are going to have a naked dream, and that you will be able to swagger through it well enough... even crank it up a notch and see what the "I'm Bare and I'm Proud" attitude will get for you.

Once you prove to your Higher Mind that you are capable of dealing with your Naked Dream Persona, then you will be deemed ready for consistent 1st Person Dreams. ... (and Aquanina knows this stuff.... I guess she wanted to draw me in to the conversation...)

Thanks. Yes, I've been keeping a dream journal, but that's also hard for me. I'll wake up in the middle of a night knowing I just had a vivid dream, so I'll grab my dream journal, and will not remember ANYTHING. This has happened the past couple nights, and has made me very pissed. This happened this morning, but then after I had been up for about 2 hours, I all of the sudden remember two of the dreams. Something just sparked my memory.

Uh oh, not another naked dream . This seems kind of hard, but I'll keep telling myself that I'll have a naked dream before bed. I still remember that dream, I went all throughout the day without noticing, and then walked into math class and noticed then when my teacher saw. Now that I think about it more, it was actually 5 years ago. Weird.

yes, believe me, naked dreams do not happen ALL the time, but they happen several times a year and from your experience I suppose that people really have to learn to tolerate them.

You know, some people don't remember their dreams at all, and it might be this very same problem... this extreme modesty about appearing naked... it may have completely shut down their dreaming. But you continued on in the 3rd Person.

You know, that is not all bad. have there been any special or inspiring Dream Characters. If there are any particular dream characters whom you admire, you could think of emulating them once you again are given 1st Person Priveleges.

Try this. When you wake up from a dream...don't move. Just sit there and think about the dream that you just had. Remember all the details. Then once you have moved it into your memory (I forget the term) you can reach for your book and write it down. I think that if you wake up and try to write it down right away it is easy to forget what you just dreamed! And yes very frustrating as well!!

Alright guys, I'll try those things thanks.

I didn't remember any dreams last night, I was too concerned about trying HILD, and it did absolutely nothing for me. I think that I was too exicited about trying it that I became too awake once I said I was going to try it.
