Red face Newbie here with brand new experience.

      Good Morning crew!

I wanted to first say that myself and my hubby both think that I have been able to have Lucid Dreams for a long time, because I always remember telling myself in the dream, that I was in a dream, and never had any self control over the dream, basically because I didnt realize that it was possible.
My husband brought it up to me to research Lucid dreaming and my search has brought me here(yay!)
So, last night, was my first attempt at it, and let me tell you, it was a weird experience, which made me scared at one point that I could not go back to sleep for a while.
I layed in the bed and closed my eyes and drifted, but I was so close to drifting, Im not even sure I was asleep, but I opened my eyes for some reason, and next to my bed was a person with a Red shirt, long brown hair and a blurry face standing next to my bed looking at my nightstand. I looked at them and said, oh my god, there is a person, then they looked at me, then faded away. My husband was still awake and was aware that I was going for Lucid that night, looked and then said, no honey, there isnt, but good job on getting it on the first time.
      It literally scared me!
I had a super hard time going to sleep, stayed up stalking this website
and eventually just let go, but I do not remember anything else for the rest of the night.
Does this sound like I achieved it, or maybe I was just having a really weird hallucination, or even made myself believe that was real?

I think what My RC is going to be is not seeing faces, because that was the one thing I kept on my mind all day, because it was from what I saw other people say, is that faces are usually blurry.

Ok, I have blabbed enough for my first post, but I cannot wait to hear any responses.

Actually before I saved this, I just asked my hubby about it again, and what he saw from his end.
He said that I was laying there and I called him a creeper for watching me sleep(lol) but he said that I was out for about 15 seconds before I jerked awake saying "there was someone there" and I know for sure I said more than that, but now, its so far afterwards, I already forgot.

Hey there, Charalis. Welcome to Dream Views! It's always nice to have another natural lucid dreamer around, and with a bit of practice, you should be controlling your dreams in no time.

When it comes to what happened last night, it sounds like you slipped into a quick spell of Hypnagogic Imagery, which is very common. It is the transitional period from wakefulness to sleep, where your body is shutting down into sleep paralysis mode, and your mind - while not yet in a full-blown dream - is producing flashes of imagery (or sometimes just sounds), which can sometimes happen while you are still feeling more awake then you are asleep.

It can be kind of jarring, sometimes, but the more you can relax through it, the less intense it can be. The feeling of other people being in the room is also very common, to hypnagogic imagery. This can either be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on the level of anxiety you are feeling at the time, so you have to just remember to always relax your way through this transition.

Hope this helps! Again, it's good to have you around. (And tell your husband he's a good man, for offering such good advice. Haha.) I'd suggest starting up a Dream Journal so you can begin your journey. You'll want to keep track of your progress and dream signs, so becoming aware of them will get easier, along the way. If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask!

      Wild Experience!

Sounds like you had a WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dream) but were not aware that you had entered a dream. WILDs can be extremely realistic...(I've never had a WILD personally but my DILDs seem like real life, so I can imagine). Vivid dreams liks this probably account for alien abduction dreams, Out of Body experiences (OBEs) and what not.

That actually really makes a lot of sense, I did look at the wiki article, and also showed it to DH, who agreed. It mentioned something else on the page that I have experienced a lot before(exploding head syndrome) as well as the knocks and ringing doorbells that in between him who cannot hear it, and me, who swears up and down it happened.
I do plan on starting up the dream journal. Last night I was so excited after reading so much on this website, I tried to get to bed as early as possible. LOL

I get this all the time. I often see people or creatures in my room as I am falling asleep. I have learned to ask them for help. Sometimes I will hold out my hand and ask them to help me out of bed.
