      Confused what i had

Ah i been having this really vivid strange dreams randomly and i wanted to ask if anyone could clarify what i had.

The first time i happened i was asleep and dreaming but something happened. Like there was a "click" and i noticed that something wasn't right. I thought i was in reality in my dream it just felt weird. So to test my dream reality i went and tried to move an object with my mind on the table. Sure enough i moved the object off the table. There was a huge shock when i did this and i started to freak out/panic. I was there in my dream in first person and i didn't know where i was (before i was sitting on the bed where i fell). Everything was dark. I tried to get my parents and sister and show them that i must be going crazy because i can move objects with my mind. They tried to calm me down but it didn't help. They just told me to go back to sleep. There was more too it till i was so confused and i felt so "stuck" there. I didn't know where i was and it felt like i was there forever. I finally decided to pray (last resort), i am a spiritual person not religious. After a while i got a card under my pillow where i was laying on the bed (of my dream). I read the card it said something that didn't make since i said something like "why would i do that i don't even know where i am!" After that i woke up in my bed. I opened my eyes but couldn't move my body for 5 seconds. It felt like my mind was filtering back into my head. It scared the living shit out of me. I ran to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. I was so confused because i saw myself blurry and i noticed that i wasn't wearing contacts. In my dream i could see perfectly fine so it confused me that i couldn't see just as well....

After that like it happened over the next month and still now randomly. Now in my dreams i just noticed that i'm there in person. In a strange place (normally my house) with strange people. I'm all like "crap... i did it again....urgg". I don't know how to get out, even tried to like pitch myself like the movies but i feel it on my body in my dream. I try to lay down to try to feel for my body (in my dream). I can somewhat feel my body when i do this but i can't concentrate enough to go back into it and wake up.

Last dream i had which was like this i was dreaming and all of the sudden i noticed i was aware that i was physically there in my house. I knew i fell asleep so this wasn't right. It was dark and i was on the stairs. So like normally i was like "urgg... again...and said OK get me out.." to whoever was listening and got me out last time(s). It was dark and i was a little scared but when i asked, there a light on the top of the stairs turned on (exactly when i asked to leave). I felt like i wanted to run into the light. I did so, i felt safe and i laid down in the light and i woke up... Now unlike the first time if i wake up from one of these i don't feel like i can't move my body. What does still happen though is i feel like brain warping feeling like my mind isn't all in my head and needs time to adjust again.

I was wondering if someone would help me out here. I talked to my friend about it and he said i might have had a Lucid dream but idk. It just feel so real...

Sounds like a lucid dream to me, if you were aware in your dreams. Also sounds like a bit of sleep paralysis in the first part where you couldn't move. If you're new to this kind of thing then check around the site and learn more about it. It's really amazing and you may just be a natural at it, which would make learning to control it easier. You could fix your problems by looking around here on DV and finding techniques on the site about how to go about controlling your dreams (like what you did with moving the object) and stabilizing them so they aren't as fuzzy and distorted. There are also techniques you can find to help you wake yourself up if you don't like your dream. Most of these dream control techniques can be done simply with verbal commands, just believe that what you say will happen like "I will wake up right now!" or "Stabilize this dream" or "I'm gonna fly!" but really put some feeling into it and believe that it will happen.

Hope this helps, and I hope you get into it because from the sound of it you may just naturally be able to tell you're dreaming and would speed up the process, making it easier for you to obtain control over your dreams. I'm jealous .

You are lucid dreaming without even trying This is exactly what everyone on this forum is trying so hard to achieve. Read around a bit about what lucid dreaming is, and all the amazing stuff you can do with it. Take advantage of this, and learn to master it.

In normal dreams, we are unaware that it is not reality. We are not fully ourselves. Maybe we are playing a role in the narrative, or just going with the flow of the dream. Some dreams even play out in third person, like watching a movie. The strangest things happen, but we don't notice because we are not really paying attention.

A lucid dream is one where we become aware it is a dream. We become aware of ourselves, our surroundings, and know we are dreaming. We can recognize things that are out of place or don't belong. We can use a bit of logic and think critically about the dream as it is happening. It is a very strange and eerie feeling. The cool thing about this state of mind is that we can influence or control the dream. Knowing it is not real, and that it is all being invented as we go, we can exert control over things.

Normally, we only remember dreams as distant memories, after they have happened. *We don't have a chance to judge their clarity as they are happening. It can be surprising to notice how real the dream feels. Freed from the physical constraints, our senses can be supercharged, and certain things can seem even hyper-real.

Every time we enter REM sleep and dream, our bodies go into a state of paralysis. This is to keep us from acting out the dream. If you wake prematurely, you can notice this paralysis. Sometimes it takes a few seconds or minutes to dissipate. It is a neat state of awareness, because we are half awake, half dreaming. We are aware of reality around us, and our body in bed, but the dream can still bleed through into reality. We may hallucinate some dream imagery, or still hold onto thoughts or fears from the dream. It is totally safe. Like I said, it happens every time we sleep. We normally don't notice it because our attention is focused on the dream instead of our real body.
