      Question Question on vividness

is the reason that dreams are not as vivid as real life because the dream memory and actual memory are not completely linked, and is that also the reason why dreams that copy/replicate memories are heaps vivid... anyway, the actual question is, will my vividness increase as dream recall gets better?

From what I know, not personal experience.

Pretty much everyone reports more vivid non-lucid dreams when trying to get into lucid dreams.

Yes the vividness will get better, and once you become lucid in a drem, try shouting out "more vividness", but make sure you're fully stabalized first, or else the vividness might be too much and you'll slip out of lucidity.
The reason they aren't as vivid as real life is because your mind generates dreams, so they won't always be the clearest. However, many people have had dreams as vivid as real life, it just takes practice.
      Good luck and happy dreaming!

Dreams will always have a fuzzy or blurry quality to them; having a vivid one simply means this fuzziness isn't as pronounced - sometimes dreams can be super-clear but even then, they won't be 100% realistic because things might appear 'off' or distorted. Vividness should increase as recall gets better, along with the amount of dream that you actually remember.

Your mind does create dreams from memories or experiences, but it's not impossible to dream about completely random, made-up things. If you want to dream about something in particular in a lucid, it's very beneficial to visualize it beforehand, while you're awake.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

      Good question deatheraux
@owo: Saying "more vividness" is a new one for me, i personally like focusing on things, like the creases of my hands, the texture of a wall, or veins in a leaf. dreams are basically referencing and combining memories, so Becoming aware and appreciating the tiny details while you are awake also helps a lot (especially when in a non-lucid dream where you may not get the opportunity to focus on details)

Q1. Are dreams are not as vivid as real life because the dream memory and actual memory are not completely linked, and is that also the reason why dreams that copy/replicate memories are heaps vivid...

My opinion is that "actual memory" and "dream memory" are one in the same. A way your memories have become vivid could be because they are reoccuring, and when you repeat a memory it naturally becomes stronger and sometimes clearer - which goes the same for reoccuring dreams (or nightmares) repeating, re-enforcing, adding in emotion and depth.

      Q2. Dream recall=more vividness

Not necessarily. From personal experience most of my vivid dreams have been random and a lot of them were non-lucid. But if you were to improve your recall the chances of remembering a vivid one will also increase.

Sorry if that didnt make sense, not very good at explaining myself Dx

      Good luck!
