      Hello, I'm Guido.

      Hello everyone.

First of I'd like to apologize for any mistakes in my grammer, as english is not my mother language.

      I'm Guido.
17 Years old from the Netherlands.
Now I don't have a lot of experience with Lucid Dreaming. However I've been interested in it for quite a while. I've always wanted to experience it. But my biggest problem was not remembering my dreams. It varies how often I remember my dreams. Sometimes I might remember just one in 2 weeks. And sometimes I remember at least one every night.

But yesterday I think I experienced my first lucid dream. It wasn't anything special itself, but it was for me. As soon as I realized I was actually dreaming I started to wake up however. But this being my first ''Lucid Dream'' if you can call it that got me real interested again. That's why I decided to do some research and that's how I ended up here!

I hope I can find help on here ,

      Guido!

Hello Guido. If you have not already started a dream journal, than I would strongly suggest that that yo do. Dream Journals are a big help to dream recall. Dream recall is very important if you wish to become a lucid dreamer. You may find it also helps to have a journal on your waking life as well, including things that you have done throughout the day. However, it is not too important to do that. Congrats on your first lucid, Do you remember how you became lucid? Some things you can do to help from waking up in a lucid is to; rub your hands together, spin around in a circle or even use verbal commands such as; "Stay lucid" "Increase lucidity" or anything to that effect. For your first couple Lucid Dreams you may realize you will wake up fairly quick despite your stabilizing methods as mentioned above. Don't let this discourage you though, It gets much easier with practice. My last tip is that once you become lucid, try not to immediately control it, try more to focus on stabilizing it and take a couple mins or so to calm down and become aware as possible. Hope this helps.

Hey, Guido. Welcome to DreamViews! And congratulations on your first lucid dream!

Don't worry that you woke up as soon as you became lucid. This happens to most people when they have their first few lucid dreams. They become too excited about finally becoming lucid and wake up. Like Ryman said, you'll get better at stabilizing lucid dreams with experience.

Keeping a dream journal is important. It will increase your dream recall and the vividness of your dreams. Also, having good dream recall increases your chances to become lucid.

If you are new to lucid dreaming, a great way to start is by reading through Sushi's Beginner's Guide to Lucid Dreaming.

If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask.

I wonder if the nights that we do not remember any dreams from are nights that we did not have any dreams in? That might be a possibility as to why we do not remember any dreams.

Everyone dreams several times per night. If you can't remember any dreams for one or more nights, it means you either need to work on your dream recall, or something is interfering with your recall (for example, stress).

eLucid has a good point, I mean yes people do normally have several dreams per night but if you don't get enough sleep to enter REM sleep then you might not have any dreams within the time you slept, because you don't always have dreams in deep sleep so it is possible not to dream sometimes rather than it being you just don't remember it.
