      Hi

Hello All. My name is Marty. I've recently been introduced to the concept of lucid dreaming and have looked around the internet for a place I could find out more about it. From the looks of it, I think I've found a home here.

      Thanks for being here.

Hey Marty Glad you found the site and decided to register. This forum has an awesome community and can answer any questions about lucid dreaming that you have.

Anyway, I recommend you check out Puffin's Beginners Guide to Lucid Dreaming. It is a great guide that I highly recommend beginners. Hope you stick around the site and good luck!

Thanks for the welcome, guys and gals. Lucid is way down the track; I'm still having difficulty just remembering my dreams. Slowly but surely it's beginning to happen.

      Welcome to dreamviews.

The first thing we focus on when we are beginner lucid dreamers are which methods should I go with. I having experience, recommend the method in my signature called FID. It is very helpful because I have noticed it is like two methods in one. First it is a WILD type of technique so you can get straight into a dream, second if you fall asleep it helps you become conscious in your dreams thus it is a form of DILD which makes it two forms and increases the chance of having a lucid dream.

      Good luck.

      I appreciate the warm welcome.

I think my main problem is that when I wake up, I can't go back to sleep. Apparently four hours sleep is enough for me and I've gotten along on that for ages. However, everything I've read says to wake up after about four hours sleep, after which the lucid state may be reached. Only I can't go back to sleep. Quite frustrating.

I plan on reading Puffin's Beginner's Guide today. Thanks.

How long do you stay up before you try to sleep again? You could always stay up a good hour or two, sleepyness should set in again and you will be able to sleep if that's not possible there's plenty of breathing/relaxation techniques out there that work great.

Usually I just lie there hoping to go back to sleep. I give up after about an hour and get out of bed. This is how it's been for me for practically my whole life. Please point me to your breathing/relaxation techniques.

      Thanks.

Maybe get up for a little bit, read a book, soon enough your mind will start craving them lost hours.

You might benefit from reading up about WILD (wake induced lucid dream), you will learn about how to get back to sleep consciously, allowing you to enter straight into a lucid dream, and if you dont manage to remain conscious, you just fall back to sleep

      Good tutorial here - http://www.dreamviews.org/f79/jeff77...hnique-116172/
and the wild sub-forum here - Wake Initiated Lucid Dreams (WILD)
