      Getting Lucid Dreaming Down...

So I heard about lucid dreaming about 6 months ago. I had one that night that I hear about it, and it was awesome. I reader he'd it like crazy the next month, kept a dream journal, did reality checks, and had a few lucid dreams. I kind of just forgot about it after those few months, but now that 9Gag post has everybody who just heard of it thinking their gonna get a WILD their first try. Well, I've tried WILDs before and was never successful, I usually fell asleep sometime during the hypnagogic images. Although i do actually enjoy it up to there . Anyways, I'm trying again and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for me that might actually help? I don't want to focus separately on MILD, because I get those eventually once I "practice". So... WILD tips for me and talk.

The best way to WILD is with help of WBTB. You should stay up, until you think clearly, but you still sleepy (anywhere from 5 min to 1 hour). Then you lay down and wait for either HI or some sensations and enter a dream.

If you fall asleep during HI, maybe you didn't stay up long enough for WBTB. I say my mantra to stay aware, but sometimes also fall asleep. But if you also practice MILD, you have a good chance of having DILD.

Let us know how it goes and ask, if you have question. Good luck

      Hey Gibso, welcome to DreamViews!

If you're really interested in learning how to WILD, here's a link to a fantastic tutorial: WILD Tutorial

The idea is to go from awake to a dream without losing awareness. But you're off to a great start if you're experiencing some hypnogogia. That's part of the transition phase of WILD, so you're on the right track!

In my opinion both practice and WBTB are vital, so keep at it.
