Lightbulb From Russia with love! Also, some questions about my first LD.

      Hello Dreamviewers
I'm a begginer dreamer, but I've been amazed by the possibilty of LDing for quite some time. Yesterday I've found a thread on reddit.com, describing the experiences of an avid dreamer, and I guess that somehow affected my today's sleep
What happened was I noticed something strange in a dream (a virtual item in a videogame which I shouldn't have, LOL), realised I'm LDing. Instantly saw a high gray building and decided to fly through it. My mind comprehended that it was possible and I kind of knew I did it, but I saw myself flying through it from a 3rd person view, which was strange. Also, heard a VERY loud sound, the one you hear when you go in a car at high speed. This sound started the exact time I realised I was LDing. It was so loud it felt physically hurtful a bit.
The moment I did this and ensured I was LDing, my brain ejected me from the sleep, maybe because of all the excitement.
I've read a bunch of materials on different techniques of achieving lucid dreams and began RCing today. Hopefully I can get another lucid dream soon and make it last longer! Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Thanks for the English part, means a lot to me
Well, what bothers me most is the sound I heard, because I think I may have had another LD earlier, much earlier, and I believe I heard that sound too. It basically grows stronger until it's ear-shattering and then I eject from the dream

      Welcome to DreamViews!

One of the most important things for a lucid dreamer to do, is keeping a dream journal. Not just because it helps with dream recall, but you can also use it to identify dream signs (recurring elements in dreams that you can use to become lucid).

I suggest you start with either the DILD technique or the MILD technique, as these are considered the easiest for beginners. However, it's up to you to find out which technique works best for you.

I'm not sure what this sound could have been. It may be a good idea to write this down in your dream journal whenever it happened. Perhaps that way you'll be able to find out what caused it.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Well, who knew... I have an update O_O
Tried to WILD myself into LD by taking an afternoon nap, ended up DILDing and staying in LD for a few seconds.
Here's my journal entry (and yes, I keep a journal):
Almost had a DILD. Took an afternoon nap, because I was very tired it didn't take a lot of time to drift into sleep. I was repeating "I'm gonna be conscious" a number of times prior to submerging into sleep. Saw a few things, but I can't remember them. Only thing I remember is me walking out of a building (supposedly, school) and seeing a bunch of people (friends) on the street. Then I turned around (or got turned around) and saw a bald man with some number or letters written in black paint across his face and forehead. He asked me if I was doing well in my math class and for some reason I knew he was gonna pull a gun. Then I realised the whole situation was very strange and tried to remember how I got into there. Immediately answered to my question with "by falling asleep", then realised I'm in SP. After I tried to move the scene started to fade very quickly and no matter what I did, I couldn't bring it back. So I gave up and opened my eyes.

EDIT: Oh yeah. No sound this time.

Zdrastvuj and welcome Congrats on your LDs.

Sometimes you hear loud sounds while transitioning into lucid dream through WILD technique. But what you are describing were DILDs. So not sure, what the sound was, could have been part of a dream plot. If you read up on stabilization techniques here in DV Wiki, it will give you ideas, how to stay in your dreams longer. But don't worry, first ones are usually short. To all the great suggestions you were given here (MILD for DILD, DJ, reality checks), I would add you practice daytime awareness http://www.dreamviews.com/f49/sat-sp...puffin-100798/.

      Happy dreams
