      Hello!

I'm sixteen and I'm interested in lucid dreaming. I've been researching this on and off and I'm scared too scared to even TRY the lucid dreaming methods just because of the fact of sleep paralysis. Most of the time when I slip into sleep paralysis, I panic very very bad like one time I got caught in sleep paralysis and something kept screaming GOD IS HUMAN GOD IS HUMAN!

But anyway, I hope through this forum I can master Lucid dreaming and stop my fears.

Hi Interestedman and welcome to DV

      1. There is a method that doesn't require you to be awake during SP (sleep paralysis). It's called MILD, it will give you dreams called DILDs. You just go to sleep normally and once you have a dream, inside that dream you realize you are dreaming. You can find tutorials about this and many more cool stuff in DV Wiki.

      2. Once you read up about SP, you will realize that although it can get really scary, none of it can harm you, because it's just a hallucination. So maybe later on you can get over it and try a WILD.

But for now, I would recommend to start out with MILD/DILD (you can of course choose a different method). Writing in a dream journal is essential to lucid dreaming. It will help you remember your dreams and find patternes in them. I would also suggest you add sporadic awareness technique to your MILD practice.

So check it out and post if you have any questions. Happy dreams

      Welcome!

One thought that always calms me down when I'm scared during SP is that I just think about the fact that everything I experience is happening in my brain. It really makes the problem feel smaller - at least for me. Basically, instead of thinking about what seems to happen around me I really just focus on the fact that it's all just happening inside my head.
