Hello, I'm a newbie who came to lucid dreaming through meditation and studying mysticism. After reading a book on lucid dreaming, I found I could induce it on my first attempt and have had five or six lucid dreams in the past month and a half, with my dream recall improving every day. The dream journal helps with that.

I've seen the acronyms for different methods, which I fully intend to explore. Up to finding this forum, I followed Robert Waggoner's tip of looking for your outstretched palms and then allowing the dream to unravel around you.

I'm finding meditation and breathing control before hypnagogia allows me to moderate my thoughts and go with it. At first, I only had muddy visions of myself floating out of my body and, by the last dream, clearer, first person experiences of flying, running and also diving into water and swimming.

Last night's dream was so astounding I determined I should sign up here and get more insight. The dream featured a moment where I grew tired of the landscape and consciously decided to pull it down like a canvass, and behind it was a beach scenario that I flew into. Incredible.

I am constantly amazed at the revelation of lucid dreaming and, this may sound weird, have a feeling of relief that I now have access to this internal landscape. I look forward to reading all the hints and tips on the site...

Peaceful dreaming...
