Guess I should say hello, I've been naturally lucid dreaming since I was a child. Here to expand!

You can call me Slip, I'm from PA

My whole life I've had vivid/lucid dreams, in some periods much more frequent than others. It wasn't until recently that I thought I'd check out what other people do and look up some ideas and see what kind of community I could get involved in.

LDing comes pretty naturally for me, I've only ever kept a dream journal once(and I am aware of the difference it makes!) but my dreams still remain far more detailed and easier to recall than literally anybody I've ever talked to about it IRL. I like to think of it as my natural talent.

The irony of being unable to casually share my best and most proud talent!

I sort of fell down a rabbit hole a year or so ago and did everything I could to stop lucid dreaming, but am on the opposite kick now doing everything I can to enhance the experience.
If you're curious I started losing control but lucidity would remain the same, causing me to get caught in strange plots of time travel, doppelganging and false awakenings for what seemed like many days (in one case years). Some dreams would seem so real for so long I started having minor reality issues in both waking and dreamlife.

Anywho, I'm trying to spread out and share what works and get some ideas for some fun things.

I read somewhere about listening to audiobooks as you sleep and essentially living the story? This interests me deeply, and would take some serious stability and skill to achieve I'm thinking. That's the direction I am trying to head. I've read over the basics of the site, but I already know mostly everything covered (not including the forums). I'm surprised how much I found I've always done that are full blown techniques.

If there's anything I learned I need to work on it's the ability to use a phone, I never truly thought of the many possibilities with something as versatile as a phone!

Although a tool I didn't notice mentioned was a mirror! I use mirrors as often as I can, it's one of the easiest methods of altering things or surroundings, creating objects, etc.

Usually when I want to make some sort of change I can find a hand mirror about the size of a sheet of paper or two, and know what I want to see in it. If I want to change a person, I imagine who I want and reflect the mirror onto their face and presto! This works really well for me.

I used to use them to sort of scan the room, trying to modify what would be next as I kept turning the mirror, then looking up to find the changes "saved". Sometimes it can get a little weird and you end up entirely inside the mirror but it doesn't make much of a difference.

Well this is getting a little off topic now, I have some forums to crawl. I look forward to sharing one of the most mysterious experiences with all ya'll.

      Hey Slip, welcome
I love reading about naturals experiences, I find it odd that you wanted to give up LDing but I do understand and I was impressed you got that skilled!
I also liked how you controlled the dream, mirrors are often used to manipulate dreams, I don't really use them though.
If you need anything PM me or make a thread, you might be interested in the WILD technique if you haven't heard of it already

Hello Slip, pleasure to meet you. That's an unpleasant experience you had in the past, I can understand why you wanted to distance yourself from lucid dreaming. I hope that DV helps you increase your number of LDs and helps you make sure you don't have experiences like that again.

Folks here love sharing techniques, so if you notice that you do something that no one else mentioned, feel free to make a thread about it and start discussing and sharing it.

      Hey Slip,
Its cool to hear your story, and maybe a little coaching from someone who's a natural would help me get along in these things.

Hey, Ive always been able to do it aswell, but ive never had to use any tools as such, i just imagine what i want or what i want to do and it happens. I also have times where im not sure if it was real or if i dreamt it, which sometimes sucks haha.
