I'm a newbie here.I came here through a notice which is in one Korean site. As I'm a natural Korean, I cannot speak English well. So Don't be mad at my mad English. However, nice to meet you everyone.

Welcome to the forums! We have a lot of people from all over the world and many who have english as a second language so you're not alone. Some basic tips I would give you to start having lucid dreams is to start a Dream Journal, or DJ. It's basically a notebook in which you write all your dreams down. This helps to improve dream recall, how many dreams you remember each night. You don't want to forget any lucid dreams you have . I would also recommend reading the many tutorials on this site and deciding which method for having lucid dreams is the best for you. Most people have a DILD (dream initiated lucid dream) as their first one and then try out new ones to find which one works best.

Also, read about the many reality checks, different things you do to check whether or not you are dreaming. These include plugging your nose and trying to breathe through it (if you're in a dream then you can breathe), looking at your hands for any differences, and looking at text (words often look all mixed up and often you can't read them). If you do all this then you'll have your first lucid dream in no time at all!

EDIT: Also, if you have any questions feel free to ask them. Everyone here is very nice and will be happy to help you. The people whose names appear green are known as dream guides. They are among the more knowledgeable people here and will help you and answer any questions you have in addition to everyone else.

Hi bigfire and welcome to Dreamviews!

Burke pretty much covered it all Good place to start to give you an overview of lucid dreaming is this Beginners guide to lucid dreaming. Read as much as you can. You can pick between two main methods of inducing a lucid dream - DILD and WILD. You can join or just read through the classes in DV Academy. Feel free to browse and post your questions or experiences. Happy dreams

Your English is better than my Korean. If you need any help, feel free to post or send me a message.
