      A Beginner's Inquiry

Hello Dream Journal forums, another newb here with another question. First off, I'm seriously digging this place, count me in as committed!

I was wondering when I should begin applying LD techniques before/during sleep. I just started keeping a dream journal and thus far, my dream recall is only on-par. Should I wait until I master dream recall or can I start attempting to reach lucidity immediately? Thanks in advance.

You can start whenever you like. The main reason in keeping a dream journal is to increase you recall so you don't forget your lucids, and it's not the end of the world if you do. It also helps you find dream signs which can help you attain lucidity but they're not necessary. However, if you're that afraid of forgetting your lucid dreams then feel free to try and master recall first. Personally, my recall isn't great, about 1-2 dreams per night. I know people who only remember their lucids and I know people who remember nearly 10 dreams a night, yet they each get consistent LDs. If you have any other questions feel free to ask

Hello and welcome. I reposted this recall techneque from my other thread. This could improve your recall.

      Recall Mantra:

Roam Graom is a mantra that the tibetan dream yogis use. It's supposed to be a geometrical and vibrational code which gains access to the dream memories in reverse. In the morning after awakening, I repeat the mantra accentuating the o's like Rome Grome (roooooome groooome) over and over while periodically remembering, and reflecting on the dreams I just had. Then I start to rember the dream backwords. If there were 10 parts to my dream, I may only remember parts 9 and 10 in the morning. But when the mantra is intoned I can start to access parts 8, 7, 6, ect. Try it out some time and see what gives. Good luck in your LD's.

Start right away There are things you can practice during the day, like reality checks and increased awareness. There are things you can practice before bed like relaxation, and affirmations. There are things you can practice in the middle of the night, like MILD and WILD. Try them all. They will all combine to give you amazing dreams. Good luck
