      Hello; is anybody out there?

      Hey everyone,

I'm Drak', you can call me Doug... o-or you can call me Drak. I really don't mind.

I'm an 18 year old Scottish lad, currently in north-western England (boo, hiss!). I've been trying to Lucid Dream on-and-off for a good few months now, with very little success along the way. Only just now am I really settling in to *really* trying, rather than trying for a few days and then getting distracted and forgetting about it.

I've had only a few lucid dreams before, and they've all been very short, as in, I'll realise I'm dreaming, and within about 10 seconds or so, I'll wake up, or have a false awakening, followed by waking up shortly thereafter. I've also had the problem of still not really feeling like I have control in these short spouts of lucidity, and I question myself as to whether I was lucid, or if I dreamt I was lucid (if such a thing is even possible).

A couple of nights ago I had my most successful lucid dream yet, as I tried to speak to a dream character and ask about myself and my dream, but the dream character just ended up walking away with a confused look on their face. At least... I hope I was dreaming.

So, yeah, ugh... that was all rather useless information. I'm hoping to really improve my dream recall and begin getting serious with lucid dreaming, and hopefully I can find some great assistance at this site, as it looks "cool as hell".

Hope to speak to some of you soon!

Hey Drak! Welcome to Dream Views.

Congrats on your most successful lucid dream!

Have fun lurking exploring the site! Don't hesitate to ask questions :3

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

You mentioned the rather short lucid dreams you've had in the past. The Stabilization Tutorial might help you lengthen those dreams: Dream Stabilization and Clarity Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

As for Dream Recall, keeping up with a Dream Journal is usually the first best step to progress. We also have a whole section of the forum dedicated to Recall. Check it out here: Dream Signs and Recall

If you have any questions I'm here to help along with the rest of the staff. Post your questions or send one of us a private message by clicking on our profile name. We are the ones with stars by our names.

Enjoy your stay here and happy dreams!
