      Glad I found this site.

When I was younger, maybe 11 or 12, I heard about a guy who was awake while he was dreaming. And he couldn't wake up no matter how hard he tried. I thought it was bogus...except that night I'm pretty sure I had an OBE. Freakiest thing ever. I could feel myself laying in my bed, but I was walking down my hallway. My cat ended up running into me and scared me back into my room, and once I stepped on my carpet I woke up, still in my bed. I saw my cat run into my room.
Ever since then, almost every night I have really crazy dreams. I've had lucid dreams more times than I can count. And a lot of times I can feel myself falling asleep, which btw, is not a pleasurable experience..at least in my opinion. And if I try to wake up from either of them, I end up in sleep paralysis. The thing is, I have never taken any drugs or herbs to help me fall asleep.
If that doesn't happen, then I will have VERY realistic dreams, and when I wake up I will have check to see if my dreams were real. For instance, last night I dreamt I wrecked my car. This morning I really believed my car was totalled, and I was surprised to see my car was outside without a scratch.
This isn't something that happens every once in a while, either. It's almost every time I fall asleep. It started to freak me out, until I found this crazy website. And people WANT to do that. So it must not be too bad. Anyways, I'm glad this website is here, or I would think that I was starting to go crazy. Because no one I know believes that things like that can happen. But anyways, there's my life story...thanks for reading

It sounds like you are a naturally awesome dreamer. I'm jealous. Does the standard lucid dreaming advice jive with what you naturally experience? For example, do the WILD guides describe the kinds of things you experience when you are aware of yourself falling asleep? Many people around here are working on learning to lucid dream. I hope you have some good advice to share

WILD guides? I know that last night I took a nap for 4 hours, and maybe 5 hours later I tried to force myself to go back to sleep because I had work in the morning. I didn't feel tired at all, and it took me an hour or so to start falling asleep. But I felt fully awake when the process started happening. As for lucid dreams, they don't really have much to do with anything. I have an overactive imagination, and before I fall asleep I always let my mind run. I know for sure that if it takes me more than an hour to fall asleep, I will have a lucid dream. I think that for me, if I take a nap during the day and try to sleep later that night I will almost always have a WILD.

WILD stands for Wake Initiated Lucid Dream. It is where you induce a lucid dream by remaining aware while you fall asleep. Everyone seems to have their own tricks that work best for them. Here is a general guide: WILD Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

From your description, it sounds like you have already figured this out on your own. You even have the timing figured out. That is so cool!

Sweet! I'd like to be able to control them more, because they've always scared me. But now that I know it's normal I feel a bit better. Thanks!
