      Wink Yes!

That's right. I finally had a lucid dream, and I stayed asleep after I said or noticed "I'm Dreaming". I feel as if I must share it with the community since I've been attempting LDs for a little over 2 months now. I'm stoked!!

I'm in side cafe rio, (it was my favorite restaurant in high school) and all the lights are off. I think to my self I broke in. I'm looking for food I could eat, and I look at the refrigerators and I'm paranoid about opening them and having the alarms go off. I then notice a freezer in the corner, I look inside and notice ice cream! I start scooping and don't stop for a while. I'm filling probably a 60 oz bowl. From there I think to my self I really should leave I don't want to get caught by the police. I start walking down the side walk, and look to my left and I see cafe rio again lights are on and people are inside. I think hmmm that's weird. I keep walking look to my left and see cafe rio once again people are inside and lights are on. It was that moment where i said I'm dreaming.

(Everything got really hazy and the dream started to fade, I just relaxed and then before i knew it was back in the dream.) I start walking inside and I'm browsing the dream scape, everything looks so clear! all the colors are bright and vivid. It was so cool! I walk around a few tables and see a table of police officers. I walk up to them, and say "Hey, hows it going?) They all reply good. I just stand there for a moment with a smirk on my face, and then wake up.

I think i got a little too excited when I started to understand that I'm not restricted by physics or laws of society. Non the less it was a great feeling. I can see that my dream control has improved, but i have much to learn!

      Thanks for reading

Congratulations and a late welcome to you JohnC

The feeling of being aware of a dream and knowing that isn't real is the coolest feeling in the world. In this reality it is so simple to understand what the world around you is, now think about the physical reality and ask yourself WHY you consider this real. This is both fun and it will help you become more aware of your dreams as well.

In fact that's how I got my first lucid dream, I watched the Matrix and then I got weird and paranoid yeah...
Haha keep up the good work and sweet dreams

Its unreal, the sense of freedom I felt. Truely amazing what our brain is capible of. I've spent the my entire life believing that dreams where just random thoughts that have no use meaning or purpose. Man. I'm glad I'm starting to wake up.

John, your first lucid dream was quite similar to mine, minus the cops - same kind of cafe setting, lights off then on, but in mine people were sitting in the dark and I was concerned about it and asked for light and a dream figure obliged. I also recognised someone form waking reality which surprised me and made me lucid. I was too scared to ask him what he was doing in my dream in case he told me that I was actually in his dream. Haha.

This actually gave me a lucid dream
The night I read this. Except I got to excited when I said I'm dreaming and the dream instantly faded.

I feel as i listen to this it helps curve my excitement among many other things.

That's so cool. Thank you for sharing. I can kinda relate to that to I kept hesitating what I should say to the cops. The first thing I thought was from the movie a waking life "what's it like to be a dream character?" then I though I could say $&@$ the police. Lol. I'm not sure why I didn't let me thought flow freely.
