      Greetings from Copenhagen

      Hello everybody

I've been looking in on this site from time to time, and because it now seems, that the world of LD has got me hooked, I decided, that I might as well give it at serious try.
So far I have managed to have one very short LD, but made newbee mistake number one (got very excited), and was kicked out.
In my attempt to build up a steady routine, I've found out, that two things are causing me problems.
First: There are simply to many interesting techniques, so I end up using a little bit of everything
Second: My kids (two and five years old) wake up at 5.30, which makes it very very difficult to lie still and concentrate on dream recall.
If "the one technique" exists, that can solve these problems, I'll be flying no time.

Well its good to see another person hooked on lucid dreaming. I would suggest just working on DILDing (as you may already know there are some helpful guides that some other members have made in the induction techniques sub-forum) and then once you have LDs on a regular basis try a new technique, but that's me. For your dream recall problem, you don't ALWAYS have to lie still and concentrate on dream recall, but it helps. Anyways enjoy the time as a member on Dreamviews and happy lucid dreaming!

Hey tsa, I see you've been a long-time member already. Great to meet you!

I agree with Crow360, you might want to try DILD if you haven't decided on a particular technique yet. Perhaps MILD? It doesn't require too much preparation, just do affirmations and mantras until you fall asleep. As for the dream recall, when you wake up, try to spend a few minutes (3-5) just laying there and try to recall things. If you know what your dream signs are, go through them in your head one by one to see if they might have been in your dream that night. Then you can write down only keywords on our journal, and attend to the details later when your kids are off. I know it may mean you'll lose some details, but at least you can recall the dreams, right? good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

If OK I might PM you for some "local" advice. I have a feeling, that some of the accuracy, when asking and answering, will get lost in rusty language skills.

      Hey Crow360 and paigeyemps

      Thanks,
DILD it is. Afternoon naps I simply can't fit in on normal days, and I am now sure, that I need more experience in the dream state, before I can tune my mind into WILD.
As for the dream recall: I don't seem to have trouble recalling my dreams - when I wake up by myself. That however is not something I experience very often. Waking up by the sound of Kids crying or the feeling of them jumping around in your bed is (maybe except for the fire alarm), in my experience, the best way to chase your dreams back to where they came from.
There are tons of techniques for almost every LD area, but when it comes to recalling there is only one way to do it.
Or am I wrong on this?

By the way divorce is not an option

You seem to have more experience than me though, considering I never had a lucid dream. However I would be happy to help out in any way i can, so please go ahead and pm me with any questions and I'll answer to the best of my ability

There are lots of good ways to recall dreams! I personally like these 2:
      1) Looking at the color blue
go outside and look at the sky!!!
      2)Going through the previous day
this helps if you have a set schedule. Remember everything that you did off the schedule and see if it is what sparked the dream. When you have found the core of the dream, you just need that and the whole dream will rush back to you. Sometimes this thing doesn't make sense, but it works!

      It did

I read the Dream Recall Compendium, and the chose a method, where you go through your day before you go to bed. I've been able to recall at least two dreams a night since then, so I guess I'm back on track.

      Thanks a lot
