In order to recall and remember your dreams you need to improve your memory (obviously), both the short term and long term memory, but especially the short term.
Here is a little memory practise routine that I started using when I was a beginner that helped my recall process get kick started:

It have helped alot of people (based on the likes: 58!)
Anyway another good idea would be to watch some documentary about memory, I did and realized a few things on my own that I could change and instantly remember alot more than usual.
One of those realisations was that snoozing with an alarmclock makes it 10 times harder to remember and become aware of my dreams.
I realized this both from experience, but it finally hit me when I watched a memory game where the host told me to look at a picture and notice the letters and then when a letter dissapeared the host told me to loudly state what later that had dissapeared, and that was easy of course, until...
The host put a totally black canvas in between the swaps and suddenly I didn't even noticed that a letter had dissapeared, I might have noticed that one letter out of 10 was gone. I suddenly realized that this was sort of what was happening when I snoozed with an alarmclock as well, because it kept interrupting me all the time and suddenly I could barely remember anything. And I was also too tired to even care to recall my dreams.
So a big recall killer (atleast in my case) is a snoozing alarmclock.
Just something to keep in mind.
LOL sorry for sounding like a commercial add, I have probably watched a little too many of those myself... and unfortunately started using some of those terms in my own English, that has to be corrected... xD But I hope that you found my tips helpful and inspiring, because that was my main intent.
Good luck and sweet (recalled) dreams
