      Hi everyone !

I heard of lucid dreaming few years ago from my friend that is natural at lucid dreaming, but he didn't presented it to me like something awesome. Last summer i read about lucid dreaming and it really interested me.One day i thought I give it a try. I did reality checks about 100 that day...That night i had lucid dream pretty awesome and long, it felt like 15 to 20 minutes. My control wasn't that good back then. It has been 9 months since first LD. Last month i had about 2 ld-s a week but in march i only had 2 very short WILD-s.
When i do WILD it goes pretty well, but as i fall into dream i just lose focus and like zoom out of dream or hypnagogic imagery. If i somehow enter the dream i do dream stabilisation(look at hands, spin, taste something) . Dream stabilises but after 20 seconds i feel unbearable need to blink and as i blink the dream ends...How do I deal with that?

I'll see you all around the site!

      Sorry for my bad english...

Hey welcome to dreamviews, nice to see you are already good at lucid dreaming.
The only way to solve your blinking problem is to not focus on your eyes. I know that probably sounds really hard but if you can forgot about them you won't notice them anymore. The need to blink is the same as what you feel like when you are sitting uncomfortably, if you are doing something intensive you wont even notice. I used to swallow a lot during WILDS but now I jsut swallow and forget about it and I only do it once during a WILD session. Next time in a dream just blink and forget about it as soon as possible

Welcome to DV! Wow I'm intrigued by measuring the span of lucid dreams and time is a good enough measuring tool as any? Anyway hope you find what you're looking for here ... everyone has been very helpful and courteous here.

You've come to the right place.

Dutch's advice is spot-on. Just forget all about your eyes and let them take care of themselves.

Having said, that, I realize that when something is really on your mind, advice like this can sound a lot like "don't think of a pink elephant!!" (Oops, you didn't think of a pink elephant did you?) Dutch alludes to "something intensive", and I'd encourage you to have something in mind that you can immediately jump to in order to forget all about the eye thing.

These are dreams, so they're all in our heads. If we fill our heads with something else, these unwelcome thoughts and "blinking" urges will fade away. You're the only one who can give them energy, so just make sure your energy is spent elsewhere.

My advice is to have something (or a couple of things, perhaps) that you will begin to do immediately once your dream begins. Ideally, choose something exciting, fun, and involved. Once you're lucid and feel ready to go, pour all of your energy into your goal.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to post them here or to PM me or any of the other Dream Guides. We'll do our best to get them answered for you. Happy dreaming!

After some time I finally had my 20th lucid dream. Best one so far. I managed to overcome my blinking problem. I just focused really hard on dream environment and shout out loud: Prolong dream...(before that, when i realised i was dreaming I focused on my feeling of touch by touching a street lamp )...I imagined a green lantern ring in my pocket, then put it on my finger because it gives my confident to control my dreams. I was messing around with the people....The Dream lasted about 5 minutes.I think it could last much longer if my alarm didn't woke me up.

Feel free to correct me because I am trying to learn english better....

Beautiful job, ninoslavi! By getting straight into the awesomeness of your dream environment and all of the things that you were excited about doing, you channeled all of your energy into the things that you love about lucid dreaming.

Without you to give them power, your problems are nothing. In the dream, you are the source of everything you see and experience. Put your focus on what you want, ignore what you don't, and great things will happen.

Congratulations on this excellent lucid. It sounds like you did everything right. Except for set your alarm later.
